El Señor Cactus Authentic Mexican Cuisine reviews
16The staff has full intentions of making sure your meal is delicious! Fresh salsa and food was hot and fresh! We went there because Carlos o'Kelly's didn't have an adequate wait staff. So very glad we found this gem!
Had not been here before so we ordered a little of everything. Every single dish was a hit, even with the picky kids. Flavorful and authentic without being unnecessarily spicy, though the Al Pastor sauce was DELICIOUSLY hot and a must-try!
Very unassuming appearance but you'll be greeted with the great food and service. Their Molcajete is definitely the best in town! If you are planning to try out the big bowl of Mexican goodness, this is the place for you.
Taco Tuesday $1.25 ea.
Soft or Hard-shell
Pulled chicken or ground beef
w/ chips & salsa
Most often, 5 minutes
Great staff
Tried cactus for the first time in the molcajete. It was delicious! The staff is so kind and accommodating. It is a bit difficult to get in the doors with my wheelchair, but worth the struggle.
Food and service was mediocre. Only saw the waitress maybe 3 times in the the time we were there.
Very good fare, with friendly staff and a good atmosphere. Accommodating, and can accept large parties in a separate room.
Order was wrong they make you pay extra for rice on a combination plate the taco shell was stale the meat was flavorless the chips so hard u can't eat them the sauce was bland worse Mexican food I had since being in Iowa
Great food, awesome service, priced well, clean, quiet, good portions, attentive wait staff. All around great place to eat
Went here for the first time. We seemed to have been waiting the whole time. Quick to get us a seat, but then we waited a long time for drinks, orders to be taken, and after waiting 15 minutes for our bill to come we just went to the front desk. Some of our food was fantastic such as the chicken enchilada and rice. The rest seemed flavorless. The customer service was lacking and not friendly at all. If we come back, hoping for a better turn out.
Great and quick service. Never ran out of soda to drink and always was asked if everything was good
Good Tex-Mex on the south side of Iowa City. Chile rellenos and gorditos are among the better offerings here.
Ordered takeout. Was $35 for a drink, torta, and 3 tacos. I asked for flour tortillas they didn’t listen. Bread was stale. Lemon were completely dry.
When I am feeling kinda naughty and want to eat something really decadent and yummy, I come here to order Crazy Chicken! I add some Pico or Guac for a veg component and some of the Tomatillo salsa! So good!
Really yummy, went twice and had the same waitress both times, tried two different seafood dishes, both excellent. Food came out quickly and hot, cumbia musique in the background.
Highly recommend! Service was nice, fast, and food was awesome! Not to mention the prices are great
