Embassy Suites by Hilton Des Moines Downtown

Edit: In light of the response to my review from the business, I would like to reiterate that (despite their statement otherwise) the mask policy was completely unenforced, and at least half of the guests wore no mask, including while ordering their breakfast in front of all of the food. The decision to ignore this point and simply post their policy does nothing to change that people were willfully ignorant of any posted safety guidelines, including the 2 person limit in elevators, mask requirements, or any other social distancing guidelines.

While the staff was exceptionally friendly, the cleanliness of the room left something to be desired. But the biggest turn off was the entire line of maskless breakfast goers (and guests throughout the hotel), despite signs all over stating that a mask was required by guidelines that the hotel was obviously uninterested in enforcing, even directly in front of the food counter. Definitely don't stop here if you're trying to follow appropriate CDC guidelines.

Everything was great clean comfortable hade a great stay with one exception it was very warm in our room tried to put down the heat but could not other than that it was a great stay

We went here for a date night and I was not disappointed at all. I was quite impressed actually. Rooms are spacious and smart. And the views facing the south are amazing! The breakfast was served very hot and the pool was open at that time. Just walking around downtown was romantic. The rooms were very clean, the whole staff were friendly and discreet. I would recommend this hotel to my close friends.

Stayed during covid so limited breakfast menu. Parking on the street is very limited, parking deck is $10 but if you're in and out you will pay again. Other than that it's a very nice hotel.

I loved the place for the most part. A few small bumps with children being unattended through the hotel, the pillows being flat, and not much as far as selection for food and snacks and the restaurant menu. But the staff was amazing with every small request we had, even something so small as q-tips and paying for my kids ice cream because the credit card machine was down. I will definitely be going back. Maybe next time not during spring break though.

Work in the area, drive by most the time. Never been inside to be honest. Hold a lot of events as far as I know.

I only stayed one night but it was a pretty great place to lay my head. They have complimentary drinks and snacks for happy hour. The choices of breakfast items is pretty vast. They have a waterfall if that sways you in their direction. I liked it.

Rooms were fairly nice, however did not feel exceptionally clean, and there was some trash left by a previous occupant. The food we ordered from the restaurant was good, amenities were good, room was very nice. Only downside would be attention to detail, and some of the noise from other occupants in the common areas

I had a great experience at the Embassy Suites. They have a great social hour with free drinks and their made to order breakfast is delicious! The beds were very comfortable and the service was excellent.

Decent property. I believe it's mandatory valet parking if you bring your own car I took a shuttle ride in and out. The rooms are nice but mine could have used a deep cleaning. I saw caked on dust on some of the out of the way power sockets as well as the headboard and bedskirt area. I took advantage of breakfast and made to order complimentary hot food (remember to tip your cook) but missed out on the managers reception. I would stay here again. The breakfast is a big bonus for me.

My family has a tradition of staying at the Embassy on Black Friday, even though we live in town. Fun to just hand out and chill. Complementary breakfast is very good, best pancakes. Rooms are clean and staff is very accommodating.

I stay here frequently when I visit Des Moines. Hard to beat the breakfast and cocktail hours. They have a decent gym for a hotel too.

The open bar and breakfast were phenomenal. The rooms were quite large and very well kept. Beautiful views!

Downtown Des Moines. Walking distance to great restaurants. Hotel was beautiful. Rooms very nice and clean. Breakfast was delicious. Very friendly staff.

I drive a cab so I don't get to see the rooms but the lobby is amazing, the staff is always helpful, and the guests are always nice.

Very clean. The bed and the pillows are fantastic. I really wanted to purchase a pillow, but they wouldn't sell one to me. The breakfast is nice and complete. The lady chef is very skillful. Great staff!

Nice hotel option in downtown Des Moines. Relatively quiet at night. The kids loved the breakfast and I enjoyed the happy hour. Was very reasonable. The only thing that wasn't my favorite was the parking situation but I opted for valet at $50/2 days and it was easy to use and car was available at all hours.

I attended a conference at Embassy Suites. The rooms were well organized with plenty of seating. Hotel staff kept fresh refreshments available throughout my visit. Free WiFi was available as well.

I have stayed here for my last 4 Anniversarys loved it here this last time was a train wreak. I was very disappointed. Last 4 time was a 5 star but this last time not so much. Wont be going back.

One start for the rude old guy at the front desk. Also, the lobby reminded me of a hotel I stayed at as a teenager in Acapulco some 30 years ago. Awful. This hotel will be crushed by the competition within the next two years. I hope their target guests are the budget minded group tour!
