Exemplar Care: Jon Van Der Veer, DO, West Des Moines IA

First time going and I have to say the nurses had the best bedside manner I've experienced at an urgent care yet. They offer 24 hour care which is also a huge plus. Dr. Jon was very kind and thorough. I would highly recommend Exemplar Care.

Our 7 year old Daughter couldn’t stop coughing, and said she couldn’t breath. We went to Exemplar and her O2 was at 88. They gave her two breathing treatments, and a steroid. They sent us home once her O2 got up to 95. They gave her a prescription for another steroid and inhaler. The Nurse and Doctor seemed very concerned and were very helpful and professional. Thus far our kiddo is doing great, and should be back at school soon. I don’t normally leave reviews, but this is my little way of saying thank you to Exemplar.

Stacy was great. Today was my first visit and I was apprehensive and skeptical to get in for some reason but she took the time to really get me taken care of. Happy I found this place. The urgent care is great too, i went there a month or so ago and was in and out in under 20 minutes.

After we were turned away from a different urgent care because they were too busy, we stumbled upon Exemplar Care. WOW. Incredibly friendly and welcoming staff. The care provider took his time with my son and explained everything very well after a thorough exam. We went in expecting an xray, but it turned out we didnt need it! (Anywhere else they probably would have done it anyways!). We felt cared for and welcome- not rushed in and out by cranky, tired, overworked staff:) I will not go anywhere else now! HIGHLY recommend!

Great care and service! My father needed to have some lab work done, and staff made arrangements to have it done on a short notice. David - the nurse - was amazing. Very understanding and very, very skillful - the whole procedure took just couple of minutes (my father has narrow veins, which could make it more difficult to draw the blood). We would recommend this clinic to our friends and colleagues. Thank you.

I was extremely sick with Covid 19. I tried to wait it out at home, thinking everyone would just turn me away. I was referred to Exemplar Care and from the minute I arrived I was so well taken care of by the entire staff! I was given a breathing treatment and hooked up to an IV within 20 minutes after I arrived. They were able to give me all the medicine I needed before they sent me home. One facility for everything I needed! If you have Covid, please call Exemplar Care! Thank you again for taking such great care of me! My whole family will be seeing you for all of our medical needs!

Dr. Katie was thorough, personable and compassionate. After being seen by 2 other dr’s with no “care” given coming to exemplar restored faith that good care and getting better is possible. Thank you!

I would 10/10 recommend Exemplar Care. My family has made 3 trips within the past week and every time it just keeps getting better. We have received the most compassionate care from Dr. Keuhner and staff. I am overly impressed with the exceptional care they have all given time after time. Best urgent care setting I have been to in years!

I went to this excellent new facility today feeling anxious and scared. Everyone on the staff was OUTSTANDING! Kind, professional, knowledgeable and informative. They made me feel comfortable and in safe hands when I was nervous. Highly, highly recommend!

The staff was extremely professional. It is also nice to know their Urgrnt Care is open 24/7.

After visiting doctors associated with the big health care groups in town, I became frustrated with the high prices for routine services and lack of personal attention. I thought there has to be a better option. That's how I ended up finding Exemplar Care. Dr Van Der Veer and his staff are very welcoming and professional.

As much as I don't like seeing a doctor which a lot of us are not fans of Dr. Jon made everything comfortable and was very professional! Dr. Jon and his assistant are great people and I will continue to go back to them for my health clinic needs!

This dr.is so “normal” and down to earth. Listens to you, validates how you feel, and gives you all the time you need. Makes you comfortable and seems knowledgeable. Was open to my being involved in my own care.
