Fireside Grille reviews
17Fireside catered for my 300+ wedding in August of 2023. All my guests raved about the food! Nolan is phenomenal to work with and extremely reasonable pricing! We had 3 different meats + many sides. Highly recommend Nolan + Fireside for your catering needs.
Nice quaint family owned. Food was great. They special such as Trivia Night on Thursdays. Atmosphere is great.
We walked in and the waitress was sitting down on her phone and we were ignored. She was into her conversation. First impressions are lasting impressions, we will never go back. Visited on August 4th 2023 at 3: 30pm. So who ever was on shift there needs to be fired!
Asked for a bit, came out with 3 tiny pieces of bacon and the bread was hard as a rock. Need a filtration system on the water, it tasted awful. Waitress was nice but with no one else in the restaurant our drinks sat empty and food took 45 minutes for kids mac and cheese, a bit with fries, a sandwich, and a salad.
Pizza crust was burnt on one side. It was still delicious and really didn't bother me since I don't eat the crust.
Trevor was amazing, first time I came in and will definitely come back. The way he served us made me feel like he’d be a great bartending cause he was personable, informative, and helpful. Will stop back again
Great place to eat. They have music bingo which is a great hit with the customers. The owners are super nice and have a great catering business. All meals are definitely handmade and delicious.
The service was amazing. I had the spinach artichoke dip and a french dip and swiss. The dip was really good but very oily. The French dip had more of a low grade skirt steak strips than roast beef and was terrible, absolutely no flavor.
Other bars in Altoona tend to cater to drunks and undesirables.
Fireside is a nice calm pub atmosphere.
Stopped in Saturday afternoon, was greeted by a very attentive bartender. At my request she changed the TV to the Preakness horse race and made sure I was not without an ice cold bottle of Miller Lite for long. Met some friendly locals and had a great time. Found this place by accident heading to Cedar Rapids. Will definitely be back.
Whoever was in the kitchen was spot on again tonight! Have not been here in a while, but felt welcoming all the same with the new staff.
Love it here. Great "neighborhood" bar/restaurant. Friendly waitstaff, cold drinks, and hot food.
Went on a Saturday night during a snowstorm, I was glad that they were open. The food was really good, but took a while to come out, I do think it was worth the wait.
My drink was a bit strong, but very drinkable. My partner had a mule, and drank it up so fast, so I guess it was pretty good.
We started with a half order of onion rings, and it was a good sized amount, and very good. We split a breaded chicken sandwich with tater-tots, it was delicious! The portions were big enough for both of us to eat our fill. We also ordered a tenderloin for someone to eat at home, and I was told it was really good as well, again, with tater-tots, as it should be.
The issues I had were that the bathroom looked like it really needed cleaned and sanitized by a professional. The dining area was very worn out and needed replaced. The smell from the grease trap was not good as well. All of these are easy to take care of, and I hope they do, the food is good and worth the trip!
Stopped in on our way through town looking for somewhere to eat. Our food was great and our server was super friendly. Great stop.excellent experience! Thx!

I ordered over the phone as we were traveling and they totally got my pizza wrong. When I went to pick it up, they said they do not have a website or menu online even though it was. The owner was rude, and I will never return to that place.
Service was great even though the place was really busy
Food was not - under seasoned; all fried things tasted the same; ham and tater skins were dry
Strong drinks
Ranch was good
We ordered the sampler and the ham and cheese
