Collectibles Store GameStop reviews
10This location is dead and dead to me. Choosy people with disposable income should let this brand die. Toys R Us died and yet Gamestop to toys instead of games that made us all consumers of their service. I think I had my last visit yesterday unless they reverse their strategy and fill the store with used games. PS Vita, Nintendo 3ds, Nintendo Advanced, PS3, PS2, PS1, Xbox, and other older systems' games is what can bring you back from the brink of extinction. The writing is now on the wall.
Amazing staff and open late. Massive selection of games, anime, and related merchandise. Definitely worth a gander
Tried to use my warranty today and a young mann name Dakota had to call a manager and a regional over 30 minutes. He then goes to the back switching between he has it and doesn't have it. I Finally gave up just to leave right where I started broken headphones with a full warranty.
Terrible, makes it hard to even want to go to this location anymore, and that's just because of the associate Carlos. He's rude as hell, continuously pushes the pro membership even if you state your not interested he gets aggressive about it and doesn't take no for a answer. Will not hand your change back, instead throws it down on the counter and will not give you a bag either if you keep telling him that you don't want the pro membership. He's done this several times. I can guarantee he alone will run that store into the ground which is unfortunate considering the other workers are incredibly kind. Don't go here. Just go to the Omaha locations.
Was attempting to trade in a video game accessory, presented to cashier the offer from the website “show this at any GameStop location to receive $50 in credit for your trade in. ” This location would not accept it. I asked if they could tell me which other local GameStop could - despite that the website clearly said “go to ANY GameStop” - and they told me to call around.
I can’t remember the last time I had a positive experience at a GameStop. Their constantly pushing scammy subscription or extended warranty services, bundling consoles with unwanted accessories or games, or not honoring deals that I can find FROM THEIR WEBSITE online. Even ordering from their website online isn’t reliable - my orders have shown up late or cancelled without notice.
Hopefully, I’ll never have to set foot in a GameStop again. I’ve never never been so eager to see a brick and mortal retail business go out of business. GameStop is a terrible company that doesn’t deserve even the meager attention that this negative review will garnish.
We purchased a game system and the cashier automatically declined coverage and today (11/9/23) I asked about it but we are outside of the 7 day window so they will not add the coverage even though their cashier did not do their job correctly. We also preordered a game and when they called previously we was told to come up early on 9th and that was also wrong information. The person stated that they can ask their district manager hopefully it’s a good answer. I would advise to go to a different location to purchase items or make sure you know the ends and outs of games and systems when it comes to buying items and especially coverage since the cashier may or may not ask you and decline it without your knowledge.
When I called there and asked the woman for assistance and finding a specific kind of game for the Wii, she informed me of another place that had a bigger selection in the age group that I was inquiring. I find that to be incredibly helpful and honest on her part and as such I will do business with them when I need other gaming platforms.
First thing first- employee was helpful and nice/ but I gotta leave one star because I can’t see how they gonna charge $35 for a USED game (which they probably gave $2 in store credit to the poor guy who traded it in) when I can buy it brand new free shipping with tax $25. I would of paid $35 IF it was new but nah best I would of gave is $20 for it used just so I didn’t have to wait 5 days for shipping- and the whole monthly membership to save money is a joke too. Do some online shopping before going in- in fact I wouldn’t bother going in at all- plus store had a kind of weird smell (not terrible just weird) and a super high pitch noise coming from somewhere- once again employee was 100% but the business need to check their prices for sure.
So I bought a warranty on my Xbox controller a while ago and just recently I broke it. I was still in time to use my warranty to get it. I was told I can get a replacement if it was broken when I got it so that’s why I got it. Anyway I drove to get that figured out and I feel like I was trick/lied to because I still have to pay for an new one even though I was still in time for my warranty and was told I would get a replacement. What’s the point of the warranty if I still have to buy a new controller this is completely ridiculous. I’m done going to GameStop thanks for nothing.
