We showed up right before the kitchen was closing from our kayak trip down the river. They were very accommodating and waited for all our guest to arrive and let us order. The food was good the service was fast.

Another great meal at Gilroys! Service is always great and the food never misses. Tonight we had the Crispy Green Beans, Beef Stroganoff, and Fried Chicken dinner. Everything was great

Was looking for a dog friendly quick stop on our way thru Des Moines and was blown away by Gilroys. From the moment we sat on their beautiful patio to leaving with a couple of ice teas to go it was true 5-star experience. Many thanks go out to our waitress who was the main reason we felt so welcome.

Second time here. A month ago I was dining on the patio with my kids. Very friendly server, additional staff also made friendly comments. Came here again tonight, for takeout. Food was ready on time, and just as delicious as the last time. I recommend the honey bacon Alfredo pizza. While waiting for the food, because I was early, three different servers asked me if I was taken care of in the whole five minutes I waited. Now that’s great customer service! Keep up the great work!

Holden Was an Absolute amazing waiter! We came in with a 20+ party for brunch and he was so great!

The aloha mocktail is delicious. Fish and chips were great too. The wait for our food was long, we seen a couple groups come in 10-15 minutes after us and get their order first. We only ordered 2 entrees.

Previous visit I had the apple crisp and the topping was soggy.

Matt was fantastic and very accommodating! The biscuits and gravy are the most authentic in town- none of that pebble sausage that some places use because they make pizza- this was the real deal.

Service and food were good though not as high of a level as I thought it would be. I think the fact it was the Brunch made the difference. If the fried chicken had been made fresh when ordered as a dinner, I think it would have been better, an as example. Still, definitely will try again

Oh man what a time we had at Gilroys! Erika was our server and she was bomb. Very attentive and accommodating. Food was too good. I got fat fat

We watched a server try to deliver our food to two other tables before becoming frustrated and simply leaving our food at an empty dirty table and walking away. She came back a few minutes later, picked up our food and walked inside with it, just to turn around and come back outside to the patio and hand us our entrees like nothing happened. When we told her what we watched her do with our food, she tried to gaslight us and say that it wasn't our food we had watched her mishandle.

The family style brunch and bottomless drinks on the weekends is where it’s at! Gilroy’s over Americana for sure if you’re looking for bottomless mimosas/screwdrivers/bloodys and great food. We had Nick as our server and he was INCREDIBLE. The best service we’ve had anywhere in Des Moines. Highly recommend - and ask to sit in Nick’s section if you can!

Holden was amazing with our party of 20! Strongly recommend for brunch! Hope you get Holden as your waiter!

I'm from Oklahoma. The first time I came here was for a graduation party two years ago and I had a blast. The food and drinks were excellent.

I happened to be in town again this week and had to stop by for old time's sake. The ribeye was cooked as requested and perfectly seasoned. The moscow mules were as good as I remembered. 10/10 will do it again.

Ordered 2 salads an 2 meals. $54 total. Waiting about 25 minutes and both brought at same time. Hot meal got cold while eating the salad. When reported to hosted she said some customers like the salad and meal brought out together. Service scores a zero with us. We will NOT be returning. They are not adequately training their servers.
