Edit: I'm seeing in more recent reviews that they changed the Eggs Florentine dish to include a whole English muffin, so I'll give them an extra star.

They're too cheap to include a whole English muffin with the Eggs Florentine. You'll get half an English muffin total, cut in half again so each egg gets only a quarter of an English muffin. They should definitely change this and I don't understand why they thought this was a good idea.

Breakfast was on point! Bloodies and savory breakfast options. Kids had French toast. Staff was friendly and accommodating.

Good food! We went here and had a good brunch for 7 people on a Sunday. Had a lot of youthful energy.

My friend and I won't be returning here. It took a long time to get our food. My breakfast sandwich was lackluster at best, and the French toast with fruit compote just had blueberries on top, not a compote. 3% charge for paying by credit card. Would not recommend.

There were a lot of plates on the menu that were out of stock and the food took too long to be served. Despite that, the burger is good.

Great atmosphere and vibe. Was impressed with the staff and unique food. The braised lamb was not something I would normally oder and it was phenomenal. The bibimbap was probably my favorite dish I've ever eaten-can't wait to have that again!

Event: Mother's day.
Reservation: 12: 00. Our reservations were not available until 12: 25.
Placed food order at 12: 35.
Was notified that food orders were backed up and suggested to put in dessert orders at the same time as the main course, so we did.
Dessert was served at 1: 15
Main course was served at 1: 45.

The food was okay, perhaps a bit overpriced. Not memorable.

I understand it's a demanding event, but being so severely understaffed on a holiday that coincides with graduation was disappointing.

Over priced and the food wasn’t good. Eggs benedict tasted sour and had the worst stomach ache the rest of the day after eating there. 2 stars for the cold brew and overall aesthetic of the restaurant. Asked for a refund for the food after not eating even a third of it and got 50% off. Never again.

I love the atmosphere at Goosetown. It's warm and inviting, you feel like you're in a special place. Great environment to spend a night with good friends or family.

I tried hard to find something kind to say about the menu, service, or food. I'm not able to as it was a failure on every aspect. A party of 10 and not a single one would return. So buyer beware-take your money elsewhere. Anywhere. I would love it if management would reach out after this review to see if they even care. I have my doubts.

This restaurant will be closed in the next year hopefully and the great location taken by owners and chefs who care about their customers.

Greeted by co-owners Peter and Kathy. Atmosphere was comfortable and pleasing. Food was delicious and prices were comparable. Definitely reccommend!

Food was good, but limited choices due to brunch menu. Service was good, but a little disorganized. All in all, good place, but not an A+ experience.

Very disappointed in our experience as the chef was not willing to accommodate our request for 2 fried eggs & fried potatoes without the steak. We were told the menu was too curated - maybe that means the chef is unwilling to serve his/her customers.: (

Greatly over-priced and trying hard be something they're not. Food imaginative but doesn't "achieve" with small portions for large prices.

Brunch was not good at all. We got the prociutto toast and the breakfast sandwich. After quite a while of waiting, they told me they run of the burrata for the prosciutto toast. I ordered something else (ricotta toast) and side of bacon. They brought it before my boyfriend’s food and we were waiting for a long time for his food. The bacon was extremely salty, imposible to eat. The bread was dried and it barely had honey. On top of that, his food was too spicy and flavor was not good, fries were extremely salted and English muffin was not toasted well. They also add a 3% convenience fee if you pay with a credit card (which I know some restaurants have). That wouldn’t be the issue if the food would have been at least okay and they didn’t made us wait so long for our food. This was a very disappointing brunch. We came here because it used to be good.

I would not recommend this place to anyone. It’s not that it was horrible. Staff were nice but the food was not good. “Thick cut bacon” was just greasy clippings of the pork tenderloin. Eggs benny had way to much lemon juice. And the breakfast sandwich was tiny and came out sloppy. All around the place is sloppy. I should have read the reviews before coming in for sure. Prices are high as well and all of this is more than below average. 2/10. $100 for a breakfast that was not even worth $50.

I would come back for the place since it does has a nice atmosphere and the white peach mimosa was good.

Take your money elsewhere.

We are new to Iowa City and we are foodies. Love living here and all the amazing options. Our first time trying Goosetown for dinner and we were not disappointed. Each dish was delicious! We started with the special, white fish crudo with blood orange & cream sauce. So good! Our table next shared chicken liver mousse with grilled sourdough bread - we devoured the dish. Cocktails were innovative and very good. Great wine & I am picky. The Lamb Gnocchi was rich, tasty, well balanced and the ultimate comfort food. I had the Parsnip Risotto - wow. Amazing - so creamy and rich. Absolutely delicious. The service was excellent- can not wait to go back!

I stopped in here for a coffee and a quick snack after doing my errands downtown. I had not been to Iowa city for a couple of years prior and I made a good conversation with the bartender about my experiences in Southeast Asia. I definitely recommend this restaurant for dining or a quiet relaxing bar to share time with your friends and meet new people.

The atmosphere is adorable and cozy, my boyfriend and I shared 3 of the shared plates, they all came out in perfect timing, one right after the other, and we're delicious and enough for two people. Then we had the pop tart dessert and the ice cream was AMAZING! We will for sure be back. And they have super cute tshirts.

Great place for brunch. A unique selection of brunch foods. Definitely a place to get a bit of variety outside of your standard dishes.
