Great Harvest Bakery and Café reviews
16This is a great spot to meet an friend and have lunch. The food is awesome and the tables are great to sit and catch up. They have great coffee too! Try the Cubano on Dakota bread. It’s my favorite!
Great looking and tasting foods! Though I myself only got a bunch of the sweeter options, I have whole faith in the sandwiches and soup of the day, too.
Our cashier was really kind and informative, and the interior of the building was colorful and clean!
Would, and likely will come again next time I'm in the Ames area.
Incredible value, service, and quality. Definitely would recommend for a sweet taste of Iowa.
Overall a very good experience, good atmosphere and solid food for a good price. Admittedly not a fan of the monkey bread though, sugar hardens at the bottom making it kinda unappetizing. Other than that it’s a very good place to eat
Being new James we thought this place looked amazing and it always smells so good! You walk in beautifully decorated smells amazing and a very interesting menu. We ordered two sandwiches to go and one of the most decadent looking cinnamon rolls I have ever seen in my life! There were two tables of four that came in after us that got served before us and one in fact it already left. When we finally got her order it was for us to eat there the bread by itself was good extremely dense very heavy. Not something I would ever recommend making a sandwich out of. The cinnamon roll looked and smelled so good it was like eating a brick! The frosting was really really amazing but that was about all it was heavy and very dense. Not somewhere I would ever recommend anyone to eat. I felt as everything I ate hit the bottom of my stomach and I weighed 40 lb more walking out than I did going in. They need to steer clear of sandwiches and cinnamon rolls whatsoever. Stick with what you know when you're good at make bread the bread is absolutely delicious for sandwiches you got to be crazy! They were dry sandwiches and then the heavy bread not a good combination at all sorry great harvest bakery but you can mix the cafe part. And way overpriced! Two sandwiches to drinks and one cinnamon roll was $25
It is a delightful little brunch café. The staff was pleasant and genuine, the food was delicious for the price and the atmosphere was wonderful to get brunch in.
Surprising, upscale food, at a below normal cost. Clean store, wonderful smells of baked bread, and smiling staff.
I’d like to give this place a higher rating because the food is excellent. Unfortunately, I’ve placed my order online 3 times and had problems every time. The first time, I was quoted 30 minutes until my food was ready. It took just over an hour. Second and third time, I showed up after the 20 minute wait time I was told after placing my order. I get to the location and preparations for my food haven’t even been started. If you’re on a lunch break from work and only have 30 minutes, do not order here.
Nothing but good experiences each time I have gone here. The bread is AMAZING. Lunch sandwiches are really good, service is always prompt and can usually get in and out quickly if you’re picking up lunch during break.
We’ve been to this bakery and cafe four times now and, I gotta tell you, the foods and breads are mighty tasty. The craftsmanship is superb and the staff are engaging, and pleasant to interact with. Two items everyone should try are the bread pudding and honey wheat bread. What a blessing! They deserve your business. Try them once and, you’ll return time and time again.
I have eaten here a couple of times before and enjoyed the food and atmosphere. My most recent experience was not good. The turkey, cheese and bread on my half-sandwich were all fine, but the lettuce was rotten. I can overlook a random bad piece of lettuce in a salad, but someone actually placed that lettuce on my sandwich. Yuck!
Prices for baked goods are stellar and you get high quality food for a great price. Their serving sizes are also incredibly generous.
Great Harvest is simply the best. Today I got a breakfast sandwich for 6.50 ish and it was probably the size of my own head. You get so much food for such a good price, and it always taste amazing! Staff is always so friendly.
The service was great. The gentleman was very nice. The chicken and rice soup was very bland. I specifically asked for tomato lettuce and mayo on my ham and turkey sandwich nothing else. I couldn't eat it because of all of the onions on it.
I bought a loaf of Farmhouse White from here today as a treat. We expected a nice fresh loaf, but sadly, our pre-sliced loaf tastes several days old, was crumbly, and far below my expectations. Not sure what has changed here but when I purchase a loaf of bread for over $5 from a bakery claiming freshness as a core value I expect a GOOD loaf of bread. This was very disappointing and we WILL NOT be back!
I met a friend here, at her suggestion, for an early lunch. There were many choices for things to eat, as well as items to take home. We enjoyed our meal, and the atmosphere was conducive to conversing, which was nice. I look forward to returning!
