Grilled Cheese Bar, Davenport IA

Our family of 5 went to The Grilled Cheese Bar for a quick dinner before attending the Village Christmas Walk. I called earlier that afternoon to see if we could reserve a table, as we’d never ate there before and wasn’t sure of space/table size. When we came in, we were nicely greeted. Our waitress was new (this was her third shift), but she was so pleasant. I’m so glad she told us, so we knew it *could* maybe take a little bit longer for something (which it didn’t). We had the steak Mac and cheese, steak sandwich, chicken/bacon/ranch, BBQ, and caprese sandwich. Everyone really liked their food. The steak grilled cheese was my sandwich - it included a side, which I picked the tomato soup. It was so good and very gooey. The only thing I wished they had was a kid’s option, as two of my three couldn’t eat but half of their meal. They also had a giant Connect Four game, which my kids enjoyed as well. Quaint and cute - will for sure be back!

Neat little find in the village. I would go for the pulled pork on by itself. The pork was perfectly seasoned and juicy. The ladies were pleased with their selections and my daughter wanted to order another zesty chicken ranch sandwich to take home. We didn't have the 192 Oz mimosas or bloody Mary pitchers, but they seemed popular with other tables.

Cesar salad should not be made with shredded can chicken. It tasted and smelled like tuna. It was our first visit, and we will try again. The service just wasn't attentive.

We waited 10 min before service. But it was worth the wait and once we got service they were great! Food is amazing. You get a lot for the price, too! We will be back!

This place is a literal hole in the wall, but don't let that fool you! I had the Caprese grilled cheese with thick slices of fresh mozzarella and tomatoes. A little soggy with the tomatoes, but totally worth it. And the butter parmesan fries? Perfection!

Great waitress. Margarita flight was good. Grilled cheese sandwiches delicious. Fried ravioli appetizer also yummy. Would recommend, and would visit again. Thanks, Grilled Cheese Bar for a wonderful start to SAU Family Weekend!

Love this place. A staple in the QCA when you want just a really good meal with no fluff! Love it.

The place was clean enough, … There was only one other small table there. The waitress was visibly annoyed with any sort of question, did not smile one time, made us feel like we were a bother. The food all came out, cold… We had to send it back right away… We ordered the tomato soup, it came out cold, and in a cold bowl. We were very confused… Seemed weird, and tasted like Campbell’s tomato soup… Right out of the can. The grilled cheese sandwiches were not even warm to the touch… The fries were hot and decent, but that was the only thing… Even the mac & cheese came out cold. It was horrible. The flavors were not even remotely what we would consider good. We’ve heard good things, so we went and tried it out, but it was one of the biggest disappointments we’ve encountered.

Consistently amazing service, tasty food and great atmosphere!

My go-to is the capresse grilled cheese and the cuban seasoned fries

It was my first time into the establishment with my partner and we happened to get Griffin as our waitress.
They were so sweet and recommended some great drinks!
Even let us know privately that the other waitress was making quiet discriminatory remarks towards me the entire time I was there and that they did not stand for that.
Will absolutely stop by again despite the other waitress because Griffin was such a sweetheart and more than earned a big tip
Also, you can take your drinks to go even if they're alcohol? ! Love it!
The food was amazing and made for great leftovers too!
Y'all need to keep Griffin because they are so awesome
Oh and the rustic decor and board games available were so precious!

I ordered the bacon sandwich. I asked the waitress if they put plenty of bacon on it and she said yes. When I received the sandwich it was filled with huge Mac and cheese noodles and a sprinkle of bacon bits. It was terrible. After a few bites I had to give up. We didn't even get forks.

I had the turkey bacon avocado sandwich on Asiago bread, it was just ok and I didn't like the mac & cheese. The service was bad, I think the only waitress was also the cook because she disappeared for a while when we could have used drinks. The place needs to install exhaust fans because we all left there smelling like we worked at a fast food joint.

I went here once with my now ex. The grilled cheese was so good but I was not a huge fan of the mac and cheese. Also, our waitress was beyond rude and it ruined my experience. I am as patient as possible and I know waitresses go through a lot, so it takes a lot to make me angry. Hopefully I will muster up the courage and go back.

What a cool place! The Mac and cheese and fried dough balls were amazing. The steak on my grilled cheese was pretty bland and gray, next time I will get something else.

Food was overpriced for the portions for a grilled cheese I could’ve made better at home. My cheese wasn’t even melted all the way in the center of the sandwich.

Food is amazing and we love the Margarita flights! The staff are amazing folks and are very pleasant! Each time we've been there, the owner has gone out of her way to make sure our experience was very pleasant and unique! Can't wait to go back!
