Nice place to go target shooting. The 25,50, and 100 yard ranges are nice we'll maintained. Although they do need to put in an outhouse. Would also be great if they had a longer range for scoped rifles and someplace to use tannerite targets. Still a great place.

Duck hunting yrs ago. Green Castle Rd, becomes the bridge. Unsafe for decades. They blocked it off w/ debris. I see newcomers hate the lack of nice paved rds, parking lots. & toilets? This is a Wildlife Natural area. If you build a McD's & gas station, it will not be "natural". It is NOT a state park.

Pistol range can get a little too busy for my liking. Clay range and bow range are nice. Bathrooms would be a good add.

A 5 for the bird species, a 1 for accessibility. Nothing but badly maintained roads that have very few places to park. No visitors center. You couldn't even get to a decent place to view anything. I'm not talking about people being able to crowd up on the wildlife, I'm talking from a quarter mile away. There is a bridge that goes over an area that was magnificent, or would be if there was a small spot on either side where you could park or stand or walk.

Such a great place to get out and away from people. I have shot turkeys, ducks, and squirrels here. Please, if you are visiting consider picking up some trash, and if you are hunting, please pick up after yourself. It is up to the people who frequent the area to clean up and preserve this resource!

Go early to ensure good time and less crowded. This range is all year long. Good place to start if you are new to shotguns or bows. Range have distances of 25,50,100 yds (they are not accurate in my halo range finder the 50 yds was giving me the only 48 yds. Bow range have a tower. The terrain rough and gravel road to get to the range, if is raining or snowing make sure you have 4x4. From Thursday’s in the afternoons and all weekends expect a lot of people. DNR need to add bathrooms in this facility.

Good place to shoot. They have a three different distances, you shoot against dirt. Bring your own target.

Actually people need to read the fine print of what the DNR can & can't do.
They absolutely CAN NOT stop you from camping on land that is PUBLIC ACCESS which most of this area is.

This PUBLIC ACCESS land is supported by our tax dollars and hunting/fishing fees. The problem was the meth heads and homeless turned this beautiful place into a giant cesspool!

During deer season, pheasant, duck, goose, turkey ect, hunters are camping here for 2-4 days at a time. We camp here all the time when we go on weekend fishing trips. They CAN NOT stop you from overnight fishing & hunting and that is called what? CAMPING!

Im giving the DNR bullies a 1 star because i can't do a 0, the area itself gets a 3.enjoy

The view out here is great along with a pretty fair set of shooting ranges, nicely managed ranges for pistols and rifles then a small clay range and a bow range. The main road skirts the river and has a tendency to flood in the spring however there is a work around detour that the DNR will post signs for.

Lots of public land with dirt and or gravel roads. Would give it a five but since state won't let people camp there as they want your money at the state run campgrounds. With that said. Overall nice area for hunting and fishing. Lots of water on huge reservoir take a boat out and fish away.
