Heritage 1865, Promise City IA

We had an amazing weekend hunting pheasant and quail with Travis at Heritage 1865, Great hunting, amazing dogs and perfect habitat and terrain for bird hunting. Stayed one night and the lodge is amazing, really great accommodations. Travis went above and beyond to make sure all our needs and expectations were met, couldn't be any happier with our trip. Already looking forward to coming back to do it again.

My first experience hunting quail and pheasant could not have been better. Travis and Abbie, the owners and engines who make Heritage 1865 a world class Orvis certified hunting experience, could not have been more welcoming during our Thanksgiving week hunt. More importantly, Travis’s expertise as a guide ensured that a novice like myself had a safe and bountiful hunt. Photos of dear friends and several dozen birds arrayed across the Heritage Lodge porch rail will forever remind me of my incredible first bird hunt. Can’t recommend Heritage 1865 more enthusiastically. Can’t wait for November and our next trip to Promise City and it’s jewel of a hunting lodge, Heritage 1865.

Heritage 1865 is a premium, Orvis-endorsed hunting lodge. Our three-day stay for pheasant and quail hunting was excellent. There were tons of birds and plenty of great fields to hunt. We had an experienced guide and very well-trained dogs, which made our hunting enjoyable and successful. The Lodge is really well-appointed and comfortable. And the food and beverages were delicious. Travis and Abby run a first-rate operation. If you are a committed hunter, you owe it to yourself to check them out.

Beautiful place for family reunion. We don't hunt buy had a great time and good fishing. Beautiful lodge!
