15I drove thru to see if I could photograph the bison. It was quiet & calm there. Very peaceful. And I did photograph the bison.
Great little gem in black hawk county. Has elk and bison on site as well as a couple of birds native to Iowa.the turkeys gobbling as you walk/drive by never gets old! The camping is great and so are the trails! Nice clean shower houses and restrooms.
Beautiful park! Lots of open spaces; lots of options available to hold events. (From typical shelters, to open park spaces and a lodge, it's the perfect place for an "outdoorsy" type of event!?
Hickory Hills Park is a nice quiet little park located near La Porte City, Iowa. The park has a lot of nice mature trees, a small fishing lake and animals that you can view. Hickory Hills Park is a popular place to take photos. The fall colors here are perfect for taking fall family photos.
Nice quiet place. Lots of fenced area with animals like turkeys, elk, bison. The shower house was clean and spacious. Some spots near the lake have no cell service. Well cared for.
Peaceful, quiet and a nice place to get away for a weekend, no cell phone service or wifi but that was ok
We decided to do some night fishing a few nights ago. This was our epic view and we caught 2 catfish in the 5 pound range. I'm gonna look into the cost of those cabins up there =)
Nice and quiet gets 5 stars but the geese have gotten the lake shore gross. You don't really want to take your grandkids down to fish

Hidden Gem, but be mindful of a lack of signal if you're a Verizon user. No signal at the lake.
Love coming here to fish. The lake is decent size with a variety of fish. A few picnic tables and some cabins you can rent. I like the abundance of shore fishing. Would definitely recommend coming here
Had a great time with some good people in one of the cabins. Always peaceful when I stay there.
Had my grandmother's celebration of life here loved every minute felt like she was walking with me, and standing by me when over the creek most enjoyed, will be back

Beautiful landscape, fishing, event venues, wild animals, disc golf course, camping. Pretty much everything you could want out of a park is available here.
