Skilled dentistry and caring competent staff who keep the office running smoothly. I live in DM, but the drive is well worth it.

I’m new to Ankeny and was in search of a new dentist and found a good one! Nice office and facilities, friendly staff, open early at 7am. Dr. Hintz was kind and professional.
They accommodated my son and I for X-rays and cleanings at 7: 30am and we arrived early and they were able to get us in early and out the door quickly.

The current dentist that I’ve been to since moving to WDM is amazing. BUT office staff is rude. So, I decided that it was time to change. After speaking with this office, so friendly and professional. I am looking forward to my visit even w/ anxiety from childhood. After I have my appt I will put it to 5 if the experience was phenomenal

Very nice people. They fit me in for an emergency tooth pain on a Friday afternoon when I could not find anyone else to help. Dr Klavins listened to my concerns and both he and Brittany explained thing very well. Much appreciated.

I came to Hintz family dentistry today for the first time as I had a change in coverage with my insurance. I was greeted cheerfully and the care I received was great. Everyone was friendly and professional. My exam was completed in a timely fashion. I was very pleased with my overall visit and my dental care. Thank you so much!

I love going to Hintz dentist. All my experience have been positive. From the front desk to the hygienists and dentists. ️

I can't say how great of an experience my wife and I have at this dentistry. We see Dr Klavins and ask for only him. He and his dental assistant are polite, gentle and do amazing work. The only thing keeping me from making a full 5 stars on my review are Dr. Hanson and his assistant Linda. They're the only exception to the amazing service we have had at Hintz. They're very rude, judgmental and when we asked their names, Dr. Hanson advised me not to write a bad review. It felt like a threat. We will continue to use Hintz with confidence, but will refuse Dr. Hanson and his assistant as long as they're employed there. Looking forward to our next visit with Dr. Klavins!

Family & I have been going to Hintz for awhile had a few bad experience. I have a 4 year old who of course isn’t a big fan of the dentist. The older dr called my son “bad” because he was scared crying and told us we need to follow up with a pediatric dentistry which is understandable but he shouldn’t have called my son “bad”. This time I went some of the staff are great but a lot of them are rude I left crying in pain. They would like me to follow up but that will be my last time there

I struggle with dental anxiety and I haven’t been to the dentist since before covid. Lori and the dr that were working on my teeth were amazing! Definitely going back! Highly highly recommend. The dr explain everything he did, they were very kind and understanding!

BEWARE: Deceptive billing practices! SILENT FRAUD.

My family member went here for a chipped front tooth, they insisted on a full mouth X-ray to which he declined. They insisted forcefully so he complied. Then they tried to charge him him the full amount for a service he did not agree to, nor did they discuss pricing prior…after being quoted $600 to fix a small chip.
When questioned they back pedaled and offered to give him a “discount” (*insert eyehe’d be happy to pay for the consult which he agreed to but not the X-ray.

Here’s the kicker: bc I referred him, they started sending ME a bill and put his balance on MY account! I did NOT sign any financial responsibility form for him or anything of that nature. If they do not quit harassing me with bills and calls for a service I didn’t receive I will file a claim with the BBB as I would hate for this to happen to others!

I am new in the ankeny area transferring all medical records from, I have been seen couple times a year by dental companies from New York to southern Florida. I will say this facility is above and beyond the best! From start to finish unbelievable great experience professional team all working together great experience! I will travel miles to continue my care here. So professional, knowledgeable very kind thank you so very much!

Emergency in my mouth and I was panicked! They were able to see me immediately and were very kind and we worked on a plan! Dr was caring and informative and his Dental assistant was absolutely awesome

Hintz family dentistry came into my life at a time when I needed a new dentist. I went for a routine cleaning and saw Dr. Scott Hansen and he is very professional and knowledgeable, as well as everyone from the receptionists, to my hygienists and assistants. He filled 4 cavities of mine and did a great job. He even fixed a rear molar filling that a different dentist had filled, but it was sensitive. Dr. Hansen improved that filling from the other dentist. The other 3 fillings are recovering ok so far.

The location is in a busy area of Ankeny, but the building outside and inside couldn’t be nicer.

After an appointment, you’re presented with a report on all your teeth that shows which ones need work if so, etc. I was impressed. This dentist also offers fluoride treatment, which I’m not used to receiving. Grateful for that. I’ll be continuing with Hintz family dentistry and I highly recommend this dentist.

Fantastic experience from the cleaning all the way through the doctor visit was outstanding! I’m definitely bringing the rest of my family to hertz dental they are not only professional they’re friendly and easy to talk to they explained everything and didn’t try to push anything on me that I didn’t need.

Had an appointment at 7am. Tried to call ahead of time due to car not starting in the cold. Got through around 715am. They counted it as a no call no show even though calls were made prior. Unable to schedule appointments now due to thier policy.

I was running late for appointment. I called and told her that. She said we had to be there in 15 mins. I said I couldn't be there in 15. More like 20-30. She put me on hold, came back on and said ok go ahead and come. So I did. Got there 30 mins late and she told me they couldn't do it. I left, angry, called to talk to a manager. The receptionist argued with me on the phone. I guess I'm glad this happened. It will never happen to us again. We are never going back!
