Hy-Vee Grocery Store reviews
18This was an attractive, clean, and orderly store, with polite and friendly staff. It was a delight to visit. I will make it a habit.
Hy-Vee is the go to grocery place for both my family and I and I absolutely love the deli food, it is so cool that Hy-Vee has cooks that cook food themselves, it’s really delicious! I’ve never been disappointed in my Hy-Vee groceries or food and trust me, I would tell you if I was because I’m a very honest person!
We have problems with the pharmacy all the time, I will call my refill in 2 days prior to picking it up and it won't be ready, I have also had it where they are out of my type of medication and they order it but it never comes in. I'm just dissatisfied so I'm switching to irl, much better never have problems there.
Really nice store. Well designed, clean and well stocked. I'm from Davenport and will say this one has a much better selection then my local Hyvees.
It has taken 4 days and trips to this store to get an insulin order only partially filled. My spouse waited in line about 25 minutes each visit to be told it either was out of stock or the shipment had not arrived or the order had not been prepared. She phoned and they did not pick up, so really this is all the result of them not answering their phone. Four trips and more than 2 hours wasted - driving and waiting - because they couldn't pick up the phone or be honest, and that's not counting the trip she will need to make again tomorrow for the unfilled portion of the order. If they're short-staffed or there is a supply problem, they need to be honest with the customer and STOP WASTING THE CUSTOMER'S TIME. Stop predicting it will be ready when it's not. Answer the phone. We're switching to a different provider, hoping for better treatment, and since we only shop at this store when we're picking up meds, Hy-Vee is losing valuable custom.
Is it under New Management where is the help anybody that knows anyting seems to be all gone!
I catered Hy-Chi and it was super easy, on time, and great food. Shoutout to Chase and Jen, they were both fabulous!
A lot of things have changed. Some staff isn't very helpful or friendly. I really don't like the machines at check out because half the time they don't work.
They had very expired tofu on the shelf, accidentally bought it without checking the date and when we returned it, they put it right back on the shelf, seal partially broken still and everything
I ran out of food and it wasn't really too pricey. Clean, updated store. Selfie check out. Nice place to grocery shop
Selection of frozen is great. But meat and fish are slim and meat is expensive. It was average.
It's my favorite grocery store always pleasant staff there and I like the quality of produce in veggie and fruit and the meat selection they have
Overpriced. Most items no longer qualify fuel saver program. Location seems well staffed, yet many check out lanes are closed. Lack of diversity in items for such a large store. Found expired items on shelves on several occasions. Wish Hy-Vee didn’t have such a stranglehold on the grocery market of Iowa.
This is a review not for Hyvee itself but for Connor in the pharmacy at the Waterfront Drive location in Iowa City. Connor was not able to fulfill my prescription today for my dog, as I did not bring in the correct paperwork. Connor did his best to contact the specialist that prescribed the medication and was unable to get ahold of them due to them being closed all week for the holiday. Connor immediately called me, summoned me back into the store and explained the entire situation to me. I feel as if he went above and beyond what was expected of him. Please acknowledge Connor and make sure he receives accolades for this. He seems like a really great man. Give him a raise.
Tried their Thursday steak dinner $10 deal. It was very overcooked and tough the 2 sides hadn't been regularly stirred and were crusty and covered in an overbaked film. The layout of the store is overly complicated with way too many turns and twists. But the selection of products was good.
Stopped in for a few quick things and the customer service was amazing. I needed help with figuring out where a product was and a manager named Haley was so friendly and took me right to the product. Definitely will be coming back again.
The self checkout is the most frustrating part of my shopping experience.i always have fantastic customer service at the delicatessen or if i need help finding an item but as soon as i go to check out, i get nothing but attitude.i never buy a lot of groceries at once and i sometimes don’t feel like talking to someone in a checkout line so i opt for self check out.there is never a time i’ve gone there and the check out process has been smooth.either they don’t take cash at any of the stations or some lady is watching every move i make way too close to my personal bubble.as someone in the service industry, majority of my income is cash, and it’s convenient to pay that way when i need to pick up a few things.the lady who runs self check out is rude and extremely unhelpful.she treats everyone as if they are children and takes over the self check out experience, grabbing items from my cart for me and over explaining how to use the system.i have been buying groceries for myself since i was 18.it’s frustrating and an invasion of my privacy.i understand that someone has to watch over so there’s no theft, obviously.but when i go to any other hyvee or target or even walmart, i do not have this experience.this location needs some major tlc from management and some training on customer service.
Horrible Pharmacy with young College Kids. They like to argue with you when they're wrong and then they find out they're wrong with no appoligie. They ALWAYS miscount pills. They can't measure the right amount of water to mix in with Medicine leaving you short.
"STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE"
UPDATE - CALLED STORE ASKED TO TALK TO SOME AS YOU POSTED A REPLY TO DO SO. I WAS ON HOLD FOR SOME TIME AND GOT TRANSFERD TO THE PHARMACY AFTER A FEW MINUTES. NO HELP AT ALL. JUST A WASTE OF TIME TO DO WHAT YOU ASKED AND GOT NO WHERE. IN THE END NOW I'M OUT MONEY TO PAY FOR A NEW PERSCRIPTION FOR MY DAUGHTER AS WE WERE SHORTED.
