Changed license from another state, was in and out in less than 10 minutes of walking in the door.

Wendy at this location is extremely rude, abrasive, belittling and consistently snotty. She should not be working with the public, let alone in a high stress space.

They wont let you pass if you are not american. You have to be completely flawless. I drive perfectly well and drove alot in my home country. They failed me for not stopping for three seconds or more on a stop sign. They discriminate against other ethnicities. The staff are sick and need psychological assessment.

How do you still have to make an appointment but clubs and everything have been opened since 2021 and are more crowded.

I have been waiting for my license for 4 months. After a month and a half I called to have my license reissued. This was a 45 minute long phone conversation that the IOWA CITY DMV CLAIMS TO HAVE NO RECORD OF. I pulled up the call log on my phone and gave them the exact times and dates of the phone call where I was promised a reissued license to prove it and was ignored. To placate me I was told they’d go back and this to the recorded conversation that they claim I DID NOT MAKE and call me back to explain what happened. Not only did no one call me back but I tried to call them back to check on the status of this investigation in which I was called A LIAR and despite calling over ONE HUNDRED TIMES DURING BUSINESS HOURS my phone received a busy signal EVERY SINGLE CALL. That fruitless, annoying, gaslighting phone call was with DELILAH and today I was further gaslit and lied to by JOHN. If I do not receive my license before I leave to fly out of state to see my family who lives 1200 miles away whom I haven’t seen in years for holidays, I will be seeking legal action against the DMV.

Making an appointment was easy on website and things went smoothly. Not a fan of the commercials on screen while waiting

Appointments are required. I went in without one (not knowing) with in an hour of the time they closed on a Tuesday. They got me a number, but didn't believe I would be seen that day. My number did end up being called. I was taken care of quickly and efficiently.

Clerk was friendly and efficient! It was a pleasant surprise to be able to renew my license during my lunch break and get back to work on time.

Customer service is good. But difficult to get anything accomplished if it’s by appt only. Not sure why they can’t take walk ins. Terrible process….

Impossible to get your license set up in a timely manner. It makes life difficult as $&#k. I am not happy they changed the availabilities to only during the week to take a motorcycle exam test. I depend on every hour of work and just to make their life life easier let me remind you they get every holiday paid time off, they have to take away weekend testing and appointments when it’s easiest for people just because it makes their lives easier. They’re already closed on mondays and sundays. What’s next open 3 days a week?

Yesterday I went in for my permit test. I signed in and waited with my number, when I was called up they told me the system was down and I couldn’t take my test. They said it would be up the next day so they rescheduled me for then, I called a couple hours before my appointment. The staff on the phone was very rude, they told me the system was still down and I would have to wait for a phone call to tell me so, even though I hadn’t received one the day before. The staff member would not let me reschedule my appointment, and I still have not received that supposed phone call. I wish there was another system I could get my license through.

Don't expect to walk in like you used to be able to. Appointment required. Now instead of waiting maybe 2 hours to get access an essential government service you may have to wait (in my case) 2 WEEKS! We all used to think the DMV was bad before. 3 of 5 clerks were engaging in small talk when I walked in. I'd rather wait 2 hours than 2 weeks.

I arrived one minute before my appointment, and waited for about 5 minutes. I renewed my license in about 10 minutes. Everything went smoothly and swiftly.

In and out within 30 minutes including the wait. We scheduled an appointment to upgrade my daughter's permit to intermediate. All of her paperwork was in order so click, pay; print and we were on our way.
Much better than the pull a number and wait all day system from before.

The clerk was helpful and friendly. He went to high school with my kids. I did have to go home before I could get in to see him to retrieve my cell phone so I could type in the 18-digit number of my appointment (grrr!) at the entrance kiosk.

The man who helped me was very nice and fast. I had missed my appointment by a bit, was told there was nothing that could be done and was put in as a walk in. Thankfully they got me in.

I haven't been in years the last time I could remember was going to get my Driver's license. The man was very nice, and respectful. I don't know how the service are since the pandemic. Had to take my daughter.
