Iowa Ortho reviews
16A friendly environment. The staff was very knowledgeable and caring. I left with a clear understanding of my next steps for my situation.
Got into my appointment promptly. Diagnosed the issue and had the procedure quickly. Great physician. Iowa Ortho is the best!
I had an appointment with Dr. Klein and felt he was very engaged and compassionate with the issues I was there to see him for. He did not waste any time ordering the test that I need to have done to move forward with possible interventions that can be done to help my back pain that I have been dealing with for over three years he sounded positive and encouraging. All of the staff that helped me were very pleasant and kind Emily Dr. Clines nurse goes above and beyond to help her patients and I really appreciate that.
My son and I had a great experience with Doctor Farber. He was very pleasant and elaborative. Overall, an amazing experience.
Iowa Ortho is the most deceiving clinic ever, my husband and I are done with them, we would rather fly to another country for a doctor visit than going to Iowa Ortho, they tell you the visit is a certain amount at the front desk, we pay what they tell us, if we ask how much the X-rays are or additional exams they say they cannot tell us at the moment and that we would get a bill and then we start getting bills for the exams and X-rays plus the doctor visit (gotta pay double?) and on top of that they say the doctor visit is not $80 (which is what we pay at the front desk) but $130 and that we have to pay the doctor visit for $130 so in the end the doctor visit costs $210? Why not say that upfront? And once we think we paid all our bills we get another one 6 months later for additional charges on whatever the heck they want instead of putting it on the initial bill. Also, why not give access to the front desk for the exams and X-rays cost? Every single country we have visited and received medical care is very transparent on what everything costs, no surprise charges and we are sick of how crooked this clinic is, that also tells me they are extremely disorganized because they don’t know their prices, either way whether it is deceitfulness or no organization they are not worth it
Went in to follow up on a possible fracture. Doctor came in, showed me an xray of my knee, (not the reason for my visit), and told me I need a new knee. Never addressed the fracture. Won't twirl or recommend
A good consultation, with understandable explanations about the test that was administered and the next procedure to follow.
Dr. Gainer was part of the team of doctors who helped guide my care while I was recently being treated for an unknown infection. Through their combined skill, the doctors were able to determine, with specificity, the infection attacking part of my body and the specific antibiotic which will eliminate the infection.
I appreciate Dr. Gainer’s advice and expertise in treating my infection.
Dr Mattesse is a very kind knowledgeable Dr.helped me in telling me what is my issue was and directed me to the right Dr in his clinic. I didn’t want to go to west DM. He guessed something about my apperral that might have been a issue I would definitely go to him again.
PROFESSIONAL DR. THIS DR. WILL
TELL YOU STRAIGHT WHAT HE CAN DO AN WHAT HE SUGGEST YOU FO FOR YOUR OWN HEALTH. HE IS NOT THERE JUST TO TAKE A KNIFE TO YOU. I APPRECIATE THAT.
Dr Vincent is a very good Dr. Great experience with him yesterday. He listened to me, and understood my concerns and issues. He's a caring Dr from my perspective. I'd recommend him to anyone. Thank you Dr Vincent for helping me with my issue. I appreciate you being upfront with me.
Everyone at Iowa orthopedics was super nice and helpful. They did a through exam to find the best treatment for my pain.
Dr. Vineyard is a total pro with bedside manner. He listened and provided a variety of options. Completely respected any decision I wanted to make.
Dr Matthes is quite easy to talk with and helped me to understand the cause of my knee pain … (with the aid of my X-ray) and what would be done by having a total knee replacement. Looking forward to the next steps for preparing for surgery and having a better life with little to No knee pain.
Back in late 2019 I started producing charcuterie boards in my hobby workshop.
It was in 2020 that I started experiencing pain, tingling and numbness in my right hand and arm.
After being tested I was seen by Dr. Shumway Vernon’s carpal tunnel in both wrists.
My right carpal tunnel release was on on November 21st; all went very well with no gross swelling or intense pain.
Release surgery on my left wrist was done again by Dr. Shumway on January 5th. Again with no gross swelling or real intense pain; just very uncomfortable at bed time. That pain was short lived.
Today stitches have been removed and I’m looking forward to physical therapy on both wrists with anticipation of full asymptomatic use of both handed.
I can’t share my praises for Dr Shumway’s skills as a surgeon and praise for his bedside manner and reassurance throughout this journey.
Thank you Dr Shumway for returning to me the pain free use of my hands.
