Great facilities, nearly in my backyard. It's very close to town, but offers a great way to escape into nature. Well worth my annual membership fee.

Great organization. Good shooting facilities. We have been using the pistol range quite a bit, also intend to shoot some trap. People are friendly and where more than willing to help newer members.

It seems like a good park for people who like to shoot. For someone that enjoys nature and trails, this isn't the best park in the area for it. When I visited, it wasn't quiet, as the sound of gunshotd was constant. When I took a trail by the lake, I crossed over a low, halfway fallen bridge in need of repair. From there, the trail mostly was just a wide lawn corridor surrounded by trees on both sides, leading to a large lawn area. Finally, I noticed that the water of the lake seemed fairly dirty, and there were a ton of unmanaged bush honeysuckle, which are invasive. Overall, I think the park has nice elements to it, and some may find it really enjoyable, it just wasn't for me.

Fantastic place! Truly beautiful! Great trap & skeet ranges; beautiful, simple campground; nice outdoor rifle & archery ranges, and fun hiking trails.

Great facilities and a great park. As a hunter, conservationist, and recreational shooter this place has it all! I love in Des Moines and it is an easy drive there and back.
