James. W Cownie Soccer Park reviews
8Parking lot is atrocious and fields need better access for the elderly and handicapped. The only bathrooms are portapotties so I’d recommend using the restroom before you come.
Great facility! Clean restrooms considering how frequently they’re used. Concessions was decent in selection. No location drug store to just stop in unless you’re familiar with the area.
Traffic in and out is pain. Parking is limited with big tournaments. There are no nets behind the soccer goals, so expect a lost ball or two in the Des Moines River.
Great soccer park with room for a dozen+ fields, two of which are college venues. Just worked a tournament there this weekend.nice event with many teams having fun! Some pictures as the morning fog lifts.
Came here for a National archery tournament. Setup was nice. Parking could get a big tough during busy events. Trains pass frequently so expect some delays when entering or exiting
Always a blast having my girls play soccer there.this year we added my grandson Kayden.they both love it!
They had some great modern portable restrooms. But their bleachers could use some work. The stairs and railings had some very sharp angle iron in u-bolts holding the rails together.
Fields are in terrible shape. Either over used or no idea how to maintain fields. Dirt holes in front of goalie boxes. Barely grassed in some areas. Really rough playing surface. No idea how this complex hosts major state and club tournaments. Kind of an embarrassment to the state if this is the best Des Moines has to offer. And I second other reviews regarding getting stuck by the train on the only 2-lane road servicing this complex at the end of a dead end. Kind of a hot mess of a place.
