Onion rings are the best! Great burgers! Bbq platter is always good! Bar servers are efficient and attentive. Ordered wings extra crispy. Yummy!

I had the brisket and rated it an 8 out of 10, but after adding their Carolina White Sauce to it - solid 10. Friendly and prompt staff with a great atmosphere. A return visit is assured!

Went to this restaurant during lunch and ordered the half pound shrimp with potato salad, mashed potatoes and gravy and toast. Absolutely delicious, mashed potatoes were so good as was everything else, highly recommend

Excellent restaurant for sandwiches. Traditional American barbecue sandwiches that we see in films and series: slowly cooked smoked cuts, very well seasoned with delicious sauce on soft and tasty bread.

Awesome food and Awesome service! Some of the Best barbecue in the Des Moines area in my opinion. Great service and fun atmosphere. Try it, you won't be disappointed! Yum!

Disclosure: I’m picky about my BBQ. If you ain’t, then disregard. If you are a fellow ‘Q’ connoisseur, however, keep reading! I ordered the Brisket Basket which comes with sliced brisket, chopped brisket, and burnt ends. It also comes with a corn muffin or toast and two sides. I chose green beans and the jalapeño creamed corn with a corn muffin. The sliced brisket was tender enough and plenty juicy, as was the chopped BBQ which is seasoned with a house rub, which was not the case with the sliced brisket. I preferred the chopped over the sliced brisket and burnt ends, as the seasoning made up for my biggest gripe with the other two options. Hardly any smoke! I’m sorry, but unless you can put a deep smoke ring in your meat, your BBQ is just ‘Meh’ to me. My personal opinion, but I think it’s a valid point. The sliced and the burnt were just too bland for me. The burnt ends were also a little too dried out to call good, unfortunately. The jalapeño creamed corn? VERY good! Surprisingly, it had a HEAVY smoke on it. I mean, what, the, actual, cuss? How do you put such a great smoke on the corn and then blow it on the meat? ! Baffling. I would also suggest actually putting jalapeño in it, as I detected zero in the flavor profile, nor did I see any jalapeño bits of any kind. No one who is worried about something being spicy is going to order it anyway, so you might as well give it a little zing, right? It was still quite good, however. I would give Jethto’s a solid 3.5 stars. I give them high marks on overall quality and freshness (except for the burnt ends), but unfortunately they fall very short on flavor. It’s just super ordinary. And hey, maybe that’s a thing for some people. Just not me.

Ordered two sandwiches on a bun, one pulled pork, the other burnt ends ($2.00 up chg) with sides of waffle fries and baked beans. The sides were both excellent. The PULLED PORK was excellant, smoked to taste, and a generous portion.
The BURNT ENDS needed a chef touch again. It had larger chucks, consistently the same size, browned until it was hardened bark on all sides, and served dried. The bites required a lot of chewing, which only half could be eaten. We tried to cut a piece with a fork but needed a sharp knife. Today, we found it too hard and dry to eat.
Everyone has their preference, and ours is BEEF BURNT ENDS,  tender bites of crispy slightly hardened that is cut into smaller cubes.
Our waitress, Mercedes, was very cheerful and friendly. Will be back for a pulled pork sandwich with sides.

Good service, didn't eat just had a few drinks. Most of the bar staff was great but one bad apple doucher bartender ruined it for the group.
Won't be back for drinks.
Probably not for food, their BBQ is easily outclassed by many others in the metro.

Food was nasty had me on the toilet all night and the next morning the ranch sauce was the only thing that was good smh

Love having a jethro's on the south side. I do wish they had a full breakfast menu. I think it would be popular as there are not many breakfast places on this side of town.

Great barbecue and great service. Madison did a great job with our table. I love the sandwiches as the ragin' Cajun was outstanding. Mac and cheese and coleslaw were just average. I would recommend this place and I plan to try more dishes in the future.

Fun place to visit. Food was okay. We ordered brisket and burnt ends, fried shrimp, fried onion rings, and fried pickles. The brisket and burnt ends were great. My son's fried food lacked seasoning within the the fry batter.

I was starving. Just got in on a flight from Denver. We got our order to go. A rack of ribs and onion rings. We made a mess of ourselves in the car. They had this delicious white dip for the onion rings (not that they needed it) and the ribs were the best I've ever had. And I've had a lot of ribs all over the U. S.

I've ordered lunch here many times.typically I go in for a wing deal day or a club. Staff is friendly and the food is typically ready fairly quickly. Tenderloins are crispy juicy and HUGE but I wish they had more flavor. Love me some waffle fries and ranch.they also have great parking.

Staff was super nice and my food was ready for pickup super fast. BUT.these are the soggiest and saddest sweet potato fries I've ever had! I'm tempted to take the whole order back and get a refund or ask them to prepare more fries. CRISPY fries

First time here today, I will say this I'm willing to get this place another try, I got ribs but the smoked flavor doesn't Taste smoked it has a weird taste to me. My boyfriend got the Jethro sandwich w sweet potatoes fries, he gives it a rating of 4 start my food I give a 3, but. I will definitely try something else next time. PLUS MY RIBS WERE MEDIUM RARE so I had to reheat in the oven when I got home, But I do love the fact YOU GET A Great and NICE SIZE PORTION OF FOOD. Our waiter Amber was very assertive and nice
