Highest bridge span in Iowa? You can even walk down to the river. It also looks like you can walk across it. If you do, just be aware of the risk.

I had heard this was the highest railroad bridge in Iowa. I took a drive to see it on July 16,2015. It is a high bridge. Wow. It was rather isolated too. I remember hearing a bird call which I later learned to be the call of the peewee. I live now in NC and peewee are here too. There are some places and times that we always remember and the visit to Kate Shelley High Bridge is one of those for me.

A really big and beautiful historic railroad bridge! The scenery is nice especially in the fall.
