Kollmorgen Park reviews
6 Great park for kids and adults! The park has many additions that kids love, and there is also a fishing pond on the park as well. The fishing pond is also highly pressured so make sure you release the fish back to the water alive.
Note: Eastern shoreline is private access only, please respect property lines.
Lots of fun areas at this park. It was a beautiful day when we went, but on a hot day it might be a little much as there is no shade.
Love that the basketball hoop was set low so younger kids could play easier.
This place is horrible there is no fish and there to much moss, after every cast I have to spend a good minuete pulling the moss of. I would not recommend this to anyone else in there right mind
Went for fishing.
Found the park from IDNR fish local website, caught a 10-12in bass on a Texas rigged green pumpkin senko. A lot of weeds in the pond.
Also, while you are on public property your are also right in someone's backyard.
Nice little neighborhood park.
Equipment seemed to be in good shape - probably geared towards slightly older kids. One thing that struck me as super-odd is the big rock that's obviously there with the intention of climbing it, although it appears to be an intro to free-climbing as it doesn't have any handholds - this is the second Urbandale park that I've seen such a rock to climb though.
The fishing pond is a unique/interesting feature.
Loses a star for:
- No public restrooms
- No dedicated parking - be prepared to park in the street. Although, it's a shorter walk to the park from the street (if you pick the correct side) than other neighborhood parks.
- No shelter - There's plenty of room for one, they must have just decided to not add one.
