Krispy Kreme, Ankeny IA

Very unfortunate visit to this Krispy Kreme location today. At first glance, the donuts looked off, so I asked why there was no glaze on the donuts and the staff said “I don’t know what you are talking about they look better than they usually do”. I should’ve walked out after that comment, but I decided to try the mini donuts. After my first bite, it was very obvious these donuts are about 4-5 days old. I usually have to limit myself to not eating the entire box, but instead I spit this donut in the trash. Might as well have just thrown $25 in the trash. At least this experience has cured my Krispy Kreme addiction! I will never be returning.

I have tried to go in the past couple days and only drive thru was open and they had only glazed doughnuts? Also i tried to go in today for my birthday and they refused to give me my free doughnuts?

Great donuts! Great service received from Amanda but unfortunately the selection of donuts for Sunday at 11 am was less than par. Wish they would have more donuts to choose from!

Stopped on the way back from Christmas travels and all they had were glazed donuts. Nothing else. No variety and the staff were very short and rude

Call them before we got there. They said that the truck had just delivered a bunch of donuts when arrived at the drive through they were out of most of the donuts.

Always a great doughnut. Love there seasonal selection and they are always having a special or a coupon to make it extra great.

The doughnut taste was great but was very disappointed there were no specialty doughnuts left when we got there at 930 AM.

The lobby was closed, and the drive thru was blocked. Don't know why I couldn't get donuts, but I won't ever go back.

Entered store and not an employee in site, waited 10min and nothing, left store without being helped.

What idiot thought it was a good idea to make a satellite location with NO BAKERY? !? ! Only one time since moving to the area in July, have I been able to get anything other than glazed. They say their delivery usually gets there between 2 and 4, I planned my afternoon around it, and I finally gave up and went home at 4: 15, according to their app STILL NO DONUTS at 5: 10. I get it, they are at the mercy of the main location, but their manager must be awful since they don't seem to put their foot down about delivery times, and NEVER seem to order enough donuts for the demand. Makes me want to open a donut shop with a bakery next door, as I have a copycat recipe I make at home and they are just as good.

Awesome place. Made a bad morning a good morning. Left wallet at home by mistake. Thanks for the Donuts.

If I could give it 0 stars I would. It always seems like they are out of doughnuts even though that's like the only thing they sell.

Staff were all in the back and didn’t notice us entering for a few minutes. There were very, very few donuts to choose from despite it only being 9AM. When we explained we had never been to a Krispy Kreme before, we were rudely told the box size options and stared at expectedly. I want to note that we were the only guests in the building except one gentleman who had already been helped, so we were not slowing down/troubling other guests and our entire visit was maybe 2 minutes once staff noticed us. When we asked about blended coffee, staff looked at each other and then said they were out of coffee. I suspect from the other reviews staff don’t want the hassle of blended coffee as this seems to be a pattern and it felt like an inorganic response. It was evident staff wanted to be in the back talking amongst themselves and did not want to service customers as our entire visit felt like an inconvenience. We will not be returning and would urge others to avoid a business that treats you like a burden. Also, our filled donut was almost completely empty (see photo).

Multiple times I go there at 4 and they have just old mini glazed doughnuts when they close at 10, don’t know how you’re open when you can’t sell anything

Ordered two medium drinks and got told the machine was cleaning itself so couldn’t have what we originally ordered got two iced coffees with cream and sugar and it was completely watered down and didn’t even taste like a coffee and asked for donut holes and couldn’t even get anything that I wanted to order so I will not be going back

We had a great experience! Some of the negative reviews made me nervous but it turns out I had no reason to fret! I made a pick up order for 12 Scooby-Doo donuts. It turns out I didn't even need to order ahead because they were fully stocked when we got there. The place was nice and very clean. The staff was friendly and helpful. 10/10 recommend!

Every time we go you have no donuts and you guys are just paying employees to stand around and do nothing for 8 hours until you guys close

Had to go through Drive Thru, wasn't thrilled about that. Worker wasn't super friendly, maybe short on staff that day but don't take it out on customers. Service was slow too. I love Krispy Kreme but choose a different location to buy from.
