La Placita Taqueria

I had never heard of, let alone been to La Placita Taqueria until it was suggested to me by a family member recently. To say that it far exceeded my expectations is an understatement. For someone who doesn't speak a lick of Spanish, they were friendly, patient, and beyond helpful. The service was superb. I cannot recall ever having better Mexican food. Their prices are more than reasonable with very filling portions. I’ve since been back numerous times, and every time the food is hot and delicious. La Placita Taqueria is now one of my favorite places to eat.

Went for a quick lunch, was in and out in 25 minutes and ordered 2 lengua tacos. I had already eaten one when I remembered to take a picture. I had the salsa verde with my tacos and it wasn't really spicy. Definitely recommend if you are looking for authentic Mexican food.

If you have never been to this store or you are missing out. Not only do they have a huge selection of Mexican staples they have a stand inside. Of course they make other things and tacos but you absolutely have to go into La Placita.

Good place, great variety and good service and very friendly and helpful employees. One of my favorite places because it includes a great variety to do our shopping with Latino products.

The grocery store is well-stocked.

Food is reasonably priced. Not a lot of vegetarian options.

It is hard to find quality authentic food from other countries in Cedar Falls/Waterloo. We were so excited to stumble upon this store/restaurant which features actual Mexican food!

Friendly waitress. Big portions. The food was hot and fresh. Best Mexican food I have had in along time. I will definitely be back.

Had some elotes with beef and street tacos with steak. Both were absolutely delicious! The horchata was also really good! Also loved the hot sauce. Coming from Texas, I wasn't expecting to find too much in authentic Mexican food, but this is pretty authentic. My only complaint would be with the rice and beans as the taste seemed a bit off compared to what it tastes like at authentic places in Texas.

The best Mexican food in Waterloo. Hands down. Also a bonus that it has a Mexican grocery store. Love this place.

All the food Ive ordered from there over the last few days was very good. Nice meat counter and grocery selection as well. Fast friendly service.

I grew up in California and this place made me feel at home with the AMAZING AUTHIC FAVOR. GREAT selection of food to buy and take home or eat there!
