19I stayed at this hotel for two nights and paid cash for both nights. They took my cash and charged my credit card. I been trying to get my money for a week. Some lady named Jenia and man name Sean keep telling me they were going to put my money back on my card but have not.
This establishment has proven that a little can go a long way, the night manager at check in was so nice and friendly and the rooms were so clean. My pet felt so comfortable walking through the hotel and the staff were so nice! Highly recommend! Can’t fault the hotel of this as it’s the owners of other pets but some of them just let thier dogs off leash around the hotel just to be aware but loved our stay!
If there were more than 5 stars for service I would select all of them. The gentlemen at the front desk went above and beyond at accommodate our needs. He was extremely knowledge and helped my family out tremendously. Very clean facility and quiet.
I normally don't like to complain about a hotel BUT I am going to contact the chamber of commerce in Altoona about this hotel. Called and made a reservation for my husband's Birthday. The next day called back to confirm and requested we extend our stay through New Year's Eve. Gal at the desk confirmed no problem and told me not only was same price but would be cheaper by $10 GREAT.
Room was average but clean however price was higher than expected so checking with front desk next morning not only priced higher BUT I formed me no reservation for second night was scheduled. They would be happy to make the schedule but two room rate was little higher. Upset after spending almost 30 minutes for them to figure things out we chose to pack up and leave. By this time went back to our room to pack up, locked out. Even through they made us a second key. By this time it's been an hour, we missed our brunch reservation and ruined our plans for new years. I will NEVER stay here again. Sorry but when you run a hotel don't open until everyone is trained properly. This is the third and Last Time we will Stay at this LaQuinta IR any other one. HORRIBLE SERVICE
God bless Shawn for making this experience so pleasurable. He truly made this the best experience. All staff was amazing, the rooms were clean, comfortable and overall just such a great experience. So refreshing to see kind staff!

I went on a road trip with my family for Christmas holiday vacation in these 3 states,
It was my first time passing through the Iowa area,
but it rained and windy on the same day, so I stayed for a day
It was curious because it was a hotel brand that I tried for the first time.
I don't like pets,
but this place is a hotel that allows them.
(but My daughter likes pets)
soft strength of the bed was very good, and the room was cleaned.
Breakfast was great, fresh.
It was not in the busting down town of Iowa, but I knew a lot of people were looking for it
The room was very nice and the staff was even better. I would absolutely stay at this location again.
Stayed for 2 nights while moving. Very clean, nice sized rooms. Good breakfast. Very good value.
Very pet friendly, easy access from parking to elevators, great staff at front desk, best in lobby, easy check in, big lush rooms, great breakfast, nice convenient location, plenty of good food near by, will stay again.
Very nicely appointed hotel. Room was well kept up and clean. Noise on our 1st floor room was a little more than we would have liked. Hot breakfast with several options. Staff was very kind and welcoming. They even have a bar in the evening. It was a little hard to find the entrance in the dark when your unfamiliar with the area but overall a good stay.
Worst customer service of any business I have ever interacted with. Period. I booked two rooms, they charged me for 3. Took multiple hours over the course of multiple weeks to get one charge credited. They did everything they could to deflect blame, not return phone calls, avoid the issue, etc. Their primary goal is not to be bothered. Terrible attitude by management, they did nothing to offer to make it right. There are many other hotels in the area, this one should be AVOIDED at all costs. Could have stayed at Prairie Meadows for 2x the INITIAL cost, and would have saved me in the long run. It is tragic that businesses this terrible are still allowed to operate.
Location of the hotel is great, convenient if u are interested in going to the casino, entering the building smell gd and clean. Was happy when I saw my room but piss up when I decided to sleep. Under the cover I was bed bug. Call the front desk twice no answer. Begin a private investigator from tht moment till I left. Sad part of that night was my Anniversary, just took my wife to be free from kids but I guess, we had to baby sit bed bugs.
Staff member could not find my reservation even though I had booked directly with La Qunta and showed the staff member my reservation email. Said the name in the system was registered as someone else Then put my family in a the pet area, which smelled like a pet room. Did not mention it was the pet area when checking us in. Will not stay here agian for this reason.
One of the best LaQuinta hotels I’ve ever stayed at. Great facility, staff, breakfast and very well priced.
Was traveling cross country. Was nice to find a great hotel (last minute), that took dogs. Super friendly staff!
Very clean rooms. Friendly staff. Great location to casino, restaurants and shopping. We will definitely stay here again!
A little off the beaten path, which makes it quieter but a little tricky to find without GPS.
The hotel appeared to be clean and modern. When we went to bed we pulled our sheets back and we could see and smell poop. It was disgusting. We immediately called the front desk and she came up. She was also disgusted. She said we couldn’t switch rooms because it was a full hotel but she would change the sheets. We helped her strip the bed and she went to get clean sheets. She said they did not have any left of the correct size so she put a blanket down and said she would make a note for the manager and that she would make it right. At check out there was no note and the front desk said he would need to speak to his manager and call us. The manager never called so we called them and made them aware of the situation. They said they would talk it over and call us back- never got a call back. Absolutely PITIFUL service! Especially when the staff saw how gross it was. They did nothing to make it right. Will be sure everyone knows of our gross experience and hopefully never stays here
UPDATE: they offered us an entire $56.00 …. Almost embarrassing
They neglected to tell us at check-in that they have this ridiculous policy that only one device can be connected per room. We had work to do online that we couldn't because of this, even after disconnecting all but one device from the Wi-Fi. We asked the front desk what to do about it and they said they'd "send someone up" to our room. They never did. Then, the next morning, there was nobody at the front desk to ask for a receipt so I can get reimbursed. There was a sign saying all receipts had already been emailed to guests. They had not.
Horrible, horrible service. The only plus is that there are some great restaurant options within walking distance.but this is also true of other hotels in the area. Stay at one of those instead.
