La Regia Taqueria reviews
30This place used to be good, yellow cheese in a burrito is not Authentic, and roast meat in a steak burrito no good, at least dice and fry the roast, the ceviche is good, the Aguas and ice creams are good, the querditos Dorado are not supposed to caked in mainnase and no crema, all around good and bad.
I came to visit from San Diego CA. I saw La Regia on tv the best tacos in Iowa but nothing to do not even close
Bomb! Authentic, clean, great food and service. It’s in a strip mall but once you get inside, great vibe.
Food is decent. Server took our drink orders and then forgot about us (as she confirmed to my husband when he went asking for her).
The Latinos seem to really like it. I have delivered for them but never eaten there. Seemed a little disorganized-very busy and lots of people everywhere, but they didn't know where my delivery order was, then told me how to pack and carry it.
I'll do my job-you just try to do yours correctly, amigo.
Slow service. Warm water served no chips and salsa as others do. Burrito supreme was disappointing
This place has the Real Authentic Mexican Tacos! I love eating here when I'm in town. Reminds me of the Taco joints I went to when I lived in Chicago. Good food!
Iowa was the absolute last place I expected to find great mexican/central American food. The tacos and burritos here are on par with some of the best I've ever had from New York or Philadelphia. If I ever find myself in Iowa City again, I will definitely come back!
Food was made quickly, but I found it lacking. There are better places in town for sure. Staff appeared friendly and genuine, but were slow in taking our order once seated. I'd return to try something different, but not my first choice of restaurant.
Great food! Good service! The tacos we're great, a decent size, and we'll priced. You have to pay for chips and salsa, but it comes with free refills and it's only around $2. I went with a group of 9 and we were served our food quickly. Would definitely go back to La Regia again because it was some of the best authentic Mexican food I've had.
(I took the bites out of my food before remembering to take a picture)
This is an amazing restaurant. No matter what I have had it's been amazing! The staff is always welcoming and very prompt! Nothing like authentic corn shell tacos!
Authentic Mexican restaurant with Hispanic market in the back for proof. Great food and water/ juice. The staff are super nice and there are several options for different sauces.
The food is outstanding. I've been a long-time customer of this restaurant and enjoy the atmosphere and the quality of the food. Try all the sauces too! We had this restaurant cater our wedding a few years ago and it was phenomenal!
Unfortunately the dine-in experience has gone downhill with the remodel. We've been there a few times and wait a while for someone to take our order. In a recent visit, we left because no one came to our table. Order takeout if you can - much better experience.
Commercialized since their remodel and lost the unique flavor and quality of their food and service. Won't be coming back sadly. They had something perfectly great and unique, and they lost it by trying to make it like a franchise. They used to have long lines out their front door, I don't think that was a bad thing at all, just a great sign that they had great food and great service once.
Always a favorite, never ever disappointed. We love their Tacos Carnitas! Love the new remodeled restaurant and expanded seating.
Very delicious and authentic. Wouldn't recommend anywhere else. Plus there's a tienda attached!
We loved all the tacos we ordered. We had chicken, carne asada & carnitas.they were all delicious! Also ordered the chips and guac and it was authentic and very good. I'll come back here anytime in Iowa City and try more items on their menu.
My favorite place for tacos in Iowa City. Also attached to a grocery store for hard to find imports.
Service here at La Regia was surprisingly horrible. Server doesn't have any knowledge about the menu. No chips & salsa, however they do give you a splendid side of fries. Unless you like bad service and no authentic feel, go just about anywhere else.
Used to be awesome. Food quality and portions shrank. Overcharged 4 dollars over menu price on a very sad order of enchiladas. Sad. Used to love that place
