La Villa Mexican Restaurant, Carlisle IA

I love the food, it's Hispanic of Mexican food. Cheese Nachos is cheesy part and so is the cheese qeasadillas.

This WAS the best Mexican food and service in the area. Sadly, the La Villa we knew and enjoyed is no more. Now it’s terrible food, smaller portions, higher prices. Farewell to the La Villa we knew and loved.

I ordered a steak burrito and it took them 20 minutes to bring out sloppy joe meat in a tortilla

Not good. The first thing I noticed when we ordered fajitas for two was the portion sizes were smaller. Which I was expecting as it is happening more everywhere. Then the tins with the fajita meat had way more peppers and onions then meat, so was very runny. More like fajita soup. It was edible, but not that good for the price. Much better in the past. My husband called and complained and they did offer to make another. Just too tired to drive all the way back to Carlisle at that point.

Awesome food, generous portions and very good, friendly service! Worth the drive if you're from Des Moines. You won't be disappointed! Yum!

Service was sub-par drink had no alcohol in it food had to be asked about multiple times during a non busy evening. Got some food before drinks and appetizers. Poor experience all around.

La villa is my absolute favorite restaurant for Mexican food. They started in Carlisle a few years back and my family has been going ever since. The food is always great and the staff is friendly. I don't drink much but the rest of my family very much likes their margaritas and let me say, they are not small.

Great food, great service, family friendly, and always my first recommendation when it comes to Mexican food. Most meals are around $8-12 too and there's generally a drink deal, so you aren't breaking the bank to go out either.

Food and service consistently excellent! Has become one of our normal go-to places we visit often!

Ordered a take out dinner. The food was great. The prices are comparable to other Mexican restaurants in the area. The chips however, were so stale I couldn't even eat them. I mean, it was bad. I've never gotten stale chips from a Mexican restaraunt. So, recommend as long as you're not into the chips.

Had our class reunion in their upstairs dining room. Food was okay. Service was good. Staff was very friendly. If I could, I would add another half star.

Delicious chicken tips quesadilla. The Queso is so luscious that I wish they served it in a cup with a straw. Yuuum

Ordered the California Burrito and it looked great but there was maybe 1oz of shredded beef. Left disappointed

I had been coming here since they first opened. I ordered my Chili Verde as usual. It was really spicy hot, burnt my lips and inside of mouth pretty good. It looked like Chili Colorado, red, they had tried to pass off as Verde. When I told the waitress it was too spicy to be Verde and I could not eat it she said that’s just the way they make it. She argued with me and would not do anything about it, but ripped my plate away without asking. So they apparently cannot cook anymore and the help is bad. We’ve had trouble getting our check the last couple times we’ve gone. It’s been going downhill for awhile. Plenty of other great places in the area to get great green authentic Chile Verde.

I always have good service & great food here. It is a family go to for delicious authentic Mexican food. I haven’t had any food I didn’t like.

A good local restaurant, the residents of our town love this place. The food is good and the staff remembers you!

This is a nice dine in restaraunt. We came in with a group of 8 and they seated us right away and got the chips and salsa out quickly. The drinks and food took a little longer than I would have liked but it was good service.
