The food at Las Brasas is always great! We had them cater our family Christmas party, and it was delicious as always. Stop in for live music on Wednesday!

The food here never disappoints! I could happily eat here every week. The rosemary naan is a particular favorite. Try the Gobi Manchurian!

Food was VERY mediocre. If it wasn't for the gift card we wouldn't have gone. I had the Burrito Anamosa, and it lacked flavors, but it wasn't awful. Just boring. Next time I'll go back to Porfidios.

My wife and I have traveled all over the midwest (and she lived in Texas for 17 years), and we have eaten at a lot of restaurants, and even more Mexican restaurants. Some places have a good dish I like, or a good drink she likes, but not a lot have both. However, there is one restaraunt that CONSISTENTLY serves amazing food and drinks, with friendly staff and a genuine desire to make you happy. Las Brasas Restaurant, in Anamosa, Iowa. The owners, Henry and Gerson, are gifted chefs, who work very hard to give their customers a quality meal and a fun environment. They would literally give you the shirt off their backs, that's the kind of people they are. It is a family owned restaurant, and they are a great family. When we go to Las Brasas, we have our favorites, but every choice is quality food cooked right.with amazing flavor. My wife loves the rice, seasoned with garlic and spices, and always cooked just right. It's even better with queso poured on it, or as like she likes it, with shrimp. This guy really knows how to cook shrimp. He has a secret spice recipe he puts on it and a few other things, and it is magnificent. The salsa that comes with the complimentary chips and salsa is so tasty, the perfect way to get started. My personal favorite dish here is the Camarones Chipotle, which is Chipotle sauce over shrimp. Omg the sauce is so good. I like hot spicy food, so I always ask for habanero salsa, which is wonderful and really turns up the heat. Those shrimp are cooked so perfectly, just melting in your mouth and so flavorful. I love many other dishes here too; burritos, Henry's Tacos (that is the actual name), the fajitas, and so much more. One way you can tell this is a great restaurant with talented cooks who care, is that when you order the a la carte items, they are just as good as when you order them with the dish. The beans, the rice, the guacamole, they are all cooked right and flavorful. My wife says that there is no other place she has ever been that has better margaritas than Las Brasas. Big, cold, and refreshing, they get you where you need to go guaranteed! Henry loves his tequila, and he loves bringing it to his customers. It is his way of saying thanks and that you are his friend. It is heartfelt. If you are in Anamosa or you simply want a good night dining out and want quality, tasty Mexican cuisine, stop into Las Brasas and check out their daily specials. Ask to meet Henry, and have fun. Was delicious. I love the chips and salsa. Then my meal was great! If I ever am in the area I will stop again!

I consider myself a foodie. I’ve been to a lot of Mexican restaurants. How many have I been to where the owner himself came to the table and greeted and joined us in a shot of tequila. One. How many have I been in that had live music on a Wednesday night. One. The margaritas, the chorizo. The shrimp, the beef, the hospitality. 11/10 best restaurant experience we’ve had in a while.

Had a great lunch here. The food was excellent, and the service was outstanding.

Will definitely eat here again.

We got seated and got chips. We were there for 10 minutes and still no other service as we watched a worker at another table doing shots with them, the other worker was sitting and eating with friends, and food being delivered by the kitchen. Other patrons had to tell the server that we needed drinks and food ordered still. We got apologies amd put in our order.

Hubby and I were in Anamosa for a work event that finished around dinner time. He had heard there was a good Mexican restaurant. We found it and we’re not disappointed.

They bring chips with salsa to the table which tasted fresh and homemade. We chose a guacamole appetizer which again was absolutely fresh and delicious.

Hubby ordered a steak entree described as spicy. It was and he loved it. I ordered a shrimp dish which I loved. The shrimp was fresh and perfectly done.

I cannot eat milk products. The restaurant was very accommodating about taking care to not add one sauce that had some creaminess to it. I love it when places take care of patrons like us.

Family and I have stopped here several times in the past 6 months. The entrees are pretty good. Always hot and fresh with a decent portion size for the price. We tried their desserts once and were not pleased with those. It took a long time to get them so I believe they were prepared and then sat there waiting for the server to bring them out. The service is my only complaint about the place.

Very welcoming staff and environment. Food was fantastic! The "Anamosa" is a sight to see and a joy to eat.

I just love this place. My all time favorite is the Las Brasas Special. And the Margs are soo good lol

My group stopped in for dinner at Las Brasas on a recent trip to Anamosa. The food, drink and service were outstanding. I will definitely go back if we pass through this area again.

A couple days ago on August 12th we went there to celebrate my Mom's Birthday (first time being there by the way) and not only was the food phenomenal, but the service was thoughtfully personalized for every table & the atmosphere was warm, welcoming.
Henry was awesome too, he even took a shot with us to celebrate the occasion and he along with the staff were very accommodating. Couldn't have asked for a better time!
