Lime Creek Nature Center reviews
9Great place to take young kids to get hands on and close up to nature! They loved it and we had fun too!
Spent a couple days there this week while visiting my wife's hometown. Remembered what it was like to tear up the trails in cross country at MCHS. There are some great loops to enjoy with the kids and a nice conservation office. My favorite trails are still the River trail that goes all the way to Mason and the Quarry Loop.
I have been here before, but I must say, I've never actually taken the time to walk around. I didn't realize the number of trails to walk/ride. It's really nice that MC has something like this for the public to enjoy. I walked the "bird trail" (northern part of the park) - because it was the flattest.not too hard on my knees. It was a great little jaunt. I'll be back to try out a different trail next time!
If you enjoy hiking I highly recommend. The center was closed when we got there but the trails are open till 10.
Kids always have a great time whenever we go to Lime Creek for a program, or just to walk around & check things out. Staff are great, friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful.
Lime Creek has been in my list since 2015. I absolutely love the variation of trails. Be sure to visit the Lime Creek Nature Center! It’s open to the public, and free. Educational for all ages!
This is a special place. You need to come out and experience it for yourself. This nature center offers a variety of landscapes and various trails. There are dirt trails for hiking, horseback riding, and biking - as well as there are paved trails for easier accessibility. Behind the nature center building itself, you will find a great place to quietly watch the birds, and if you are still enough you can be blessed with seeing other wildlife come and visit their water feature to snag a drink. I have seen raccoons, deer, fox, many kinds of squirrel, groundhogs and possum. Definitely bring your camera! If you are able, stop in to the building and take a look at the neat murals and educational displays. SO worthy your time to visit.
Nice local trails. Great for biking and cross country skiing. The county offers educational outdoor classes for kids in the summer.
