LOF-Xpress Oil Change – Ankeny

I visited LOF-Xpress today, for the first time. I probably won't go anywhere else for oil changes in the future! The guys were very professional and polite. The entire visit was extremely quick and easy! No complaints here at all! Definitely recommend this place!

Update. See below for initial review. The CEO contacted me the next day, on a Saturday, after my review. He wanted to remedy the situation which was great to here from him so quickly. Went back in on my timeframe, got me in right away, and tires got rotated correctly. CEO is passionate about honesty and integrity of his company and wants things to be done right, not just make a buck.

Don't know how to properly rotate tires on 4x4 truck with straight front axle even after telling them how to do it. Criss cross front to rear and bring rear straight forward. Tried saying my wiper blades are starting to show signs of wear but I just installed them a week ago. Highly DO NOT recommend taking your vehicle here.

Staff is always nice and friendly does a great job! I have been going here Since they have opened here in Ankeny. I love the fact that I can go through the express lane and be in and out in 10 minutes if not less. If I need more done I can go to the other lanes and everything is done proper they don’t do work until they come in and confirm with you they go over dollars before they do the work. If you’re looking for a phenomenal place to go where you will be treated right you need to take a cruise through these guys garage. Keep up the great work, fantastic employees and management!

We LOVE LOF, staff is courteous, they don't try to "upsell" instead make gentle recommendations. I've been coming here since we purchased our new vehicles. As a person who works full time and has two rambunctious little girls, this has been a Godsend to not have to wait a long time to get our cars serviced. 10/10 recommend

They do a pretty good job of getting you in and out unless they get backed up. Then it can take a few and might want to come back later.

I'm from California and I needed a quick oil change to get back home from visiting family. LOF-Xpress got my attention, 15 mins from my sister's house. Awesome experience. Customer service was friendly and well experienced. They know what they where doing. I'll come back here again for my next visit to Iowa. And reasonable price too.

Store Manager Nick didn’t try to oversell, along with my technician Chris, they both provided a top notch service. I finally found a place I can rely on for speed, conscience and professionalism. I will refer to anyone without thinking and will be back in the future.

Over priced, slow service, and didn't have the proper tools to service my truck. If 0 stars was an option It would be utilized

Employees were courteous, but they might as well shut off the no waiting sign. 35 minutes from check in to getting into the bay for the express service. Should rename it to the slow service, as there was only a 20 minute wait for the plus service.

Baseless and biased policy, lying to customers. They told me as I pulled up that there was a $10 charge for having a European vehicle "because European vehicles take longer". Now this is completely ridiculous. I bet they don't charge the new Jeep Renegade a Euro charge even though it's a Fiat underneath. There are also dozens of American cars that put oil filters in difficult to reach spaces like directly above the exhaust or tucked far away. They just know Euro cars are usually more expensive and they can squeeze more money out of us suckers. I don't even care about the $10, I just don't want to be lied to.

Matt & Chris were great! At 6: 55 am they had a sense of humor and joked with me about how long it has been since my last oil change. I have been coming to Lof-Xpress for a year and half and have never had a bad experience! Thank you for getting me back on the road so fast!

Good service until an issue, then abandoned. My SO had her transmission fluid flushed and oil change ($250). She returned a few days later as instructed to have the levels checked. She also asked about an engine light that had come on since the work. They said they didn't have time for it because they were working on a customers' cars (as if her $250 meant nothing a few days later). Then they said she would have to go to a mechanic LOF selected to see what was wrong. (I was on the phone for about 70% of this ordeal.) She finally said OK I need to go several times while the worker stood in the way and would not move for her to go. I have had many oil changes at the LOF in Ames and never had a problem. From now on I only see the LOF as just a place to change oil (if even that), never any work that requires advanced mechanical skill. We had the cold shoulder at the first sign of any problems and lost the "customer" status once they had the money. No time for us, no time for the LOF.

I only go there for oil changes now after an unfortunate outcome to a visit for a full service inspection. NEVER get your transmission messed with. They ended up pinching my gasket causing it to leak. 80 extra dollars later to fix it myself with people I trust and know. Overall I like the quick Xpress for oil changes, tire top offs and what have you and will return again just for those services.

I have used LOF for over two years now. They have a "kiosk" setup. Awesome place, great prices and they are Fast! If you like coffee they'll make you a cup!

They didn't tighten my oil filter when they did my oil change so my truck started leaking oil. Good thing I noticed because their incompetence could've cost me my truck.

I dont normally write reviews but this place is beyond the best customer service i've ever recieved. I get my oil changes there regularly, infact i just got one a month ago. But I was driving my car yesterday and all the oil they put in a month ago was gone, my car was bone dry. So I put 2 quarts in and drove to LOF to see if they could check the parts they mess with during an oil change to make sure they didn't leave anything loose. Not only were they happy to check, but they tried to fill my car back up with oil and we figured out my car was just POURING oil out and it wasnt because of anything they did. They tried their best to figure out what was wrong (for free might I add) but they said that it was too much of an oily mess for them to tell and I needed to get it towed to my car dealer (since I have a warrenty). They were just so great, they didnt have to try to figure out what was wrong, they could've just said it wasnt their fault and sent me on my way. Best place ever, I will always reccomend them to everyone I know.

This place is amazing! I love the full service routine they do, with the plus services. It really is worth the few extra dollars!

I stopped at the Ankeny LOF this morning for the Early Bird X-press oil change. I had a coupon that I had received in the mail from LOF for $11 dollars off of the service good at this store with no expiration date. When I presented it to the technician, I was informed that the special was only $8 off. After a short debate, the technician went to the manager to clarify the discount and was told that LOF would honor the $11 off coupon. The service was performed. However, after leaving the site, I reviewed the billing and discovered a mysterious $3 charge for engine oil filter. I reviewed previous statements from this site and no others had a charge for oil filter. So it appears that they got their extra $3. To be clear, this review is not about the $3, it is about the honesty and integrity of the business. Needless to say, I will not be going back.
