Lost Island Waterpark & Adventure Golf & Go-Karts, Waterloo IA

It is closed when the website says is open. I drove all the way feom Iowa city with my exited kids for nothing. Very disappointing.

Visited early last month during the record heat wave we experienced, without a doubt the park receives its just desserts as one of the best waterparks I've visited in the Waterloo/Cedar Falls area. Compared to the Falls Aquatic Center in CF I visited a few years ago, Lost Island maintains the merits of an outstanding aquatic center, not some run of the mill water park ruined by a college community. Yes, the Falls Aquatic Center is "dated" to put it nicely.

I personally enjoy the lazy river. Of course who wouldn't when you just want to let the current carry you away. The opposite of that being the slip and slide water racing slides. Not recommended for adults due to chance of flying and landing hard on a hot plastic surface even with the mats. Bruises pending healing.

My only concern is the number of adult guests that partake of the park with a bit of a unpleasant aura about them. I trust that the park takes appropriate measures regarding Waterloo and Cedar Falls "registry" members. I trust facial recognition is enforced or some form of measure. I noticed a few unsavory older adults with electronic devices. Could have been grandparents just with grandkids, but i still alerted a staff member regarding my concern.

I've lived in the heart of Orlando for a time so even these quiet towns have their dark sides. I do hope someday the park thinks about an Enclosed space as I'm sure the community would benefit of a full year round facility and not just summer.

Good park! Plenty of slides for all ages and thrill levels. Plenty of seating available. The wave pool was a hit! Beer and alcohol was expensive. Didn't try the food. Will be back! 9 year old daughter loved it!

Awesome experience! Highly recommend! My kids, ages 14 and 16, absolutely love it. It's a WOW! We buy the Gold Pass every single year! Worth every cent.

Waterloo - 10-star experience & value…we took the entire family (14 of us including grandkids) for Thursday excursion. We booked our villa late in February (a week later there wasn’t one available) it was a great move. Has a private bathroom included, safe, refrigerator, and staff that constantly check if you need any food or drinks which they’ll deliver. The Villa looks out over the wave pool and across a lot of the park. Our group ranged from 9 month old, toddler, pre teens, all the way up to us Grandparents. It’s safe to say this park has something for everyone. Our Grands (and our kids/spouses) ran hard all day. We lasted till about 6 pm leaving with everyone exhausted. Not surprised this is one of the best water parks in the USA, we USED TO BE Wisconsin Dells frequent visitors, Lost Island is way better experience! Way cleaner, crowds were nicer, tons of slides with reasonable waits. Staff was great, parking no problem. I noticed a lot of families went back to their vehicles for parking lot picnics, the food options inside are not great but they have pizza/burgers/dogs/fries/ice cream inside. Buy a refillable cup for pop, it’s worth it. All our family agreed this was a more enjoyable experience than going to the Dells (CONSIDERABLY LESS EXPENSIVE THAN THE Dells). We didn’t try the mini golf, zip line, or go carts only because we remained entertained in the water park. The amusement park side is still expanding, we look forward to trying it in a few years when the youngest grands are older.

This place was very fun! Our bosses took us all here as a little vacation day. They rented a couple cabanas as well. The cabanas were very clean, and our hostess was friendly and attentive.
There are many things to do here (slides, wavepool, lazy river, kid's playground, bars). The lines were pretty long, but that is to be expected. All of the employees here seemed very attentive to everyone around them.
I can't wait to come back here someday!

Let 9 million people in so there is not one single chair available anywhere. Then shut down the wave pool because too many people in the pool are wearing sunscreen and make the water murky……waited an hour and 10 minutes in line for food and other place was closed. Poorly managed. They obviously don’t have occupancy restrictions. They’ll take your money and then no place to sit or lay your stuff. Disappointed for sure.

We had so much fun here. We bought the combo water park/theme park tickets. The food was really good at the theme park. It’s nice that they are close to each other. We went to the waterpark first and then the theme park as it was open until 9: 30. Both were clean and well kept. Lots of things to keep busy with and had a lot of fun

I had a great time. Food and drinks were a bit pricey. I was bare foot, my feet were a little sore, next time I will wear pool shoes. Lazy river was relaxing. The waterslides were amazing, exciting, thrillers, and yes I screamed. Can't wait to go back.

I am originally from NYC & I came down to Iowa for a nice vacation, I stopped at this Waterpark because I love Waterparks & wanted to give this a try. I was expecting something like a $80 entry fee and the average wait time for a slide to be like 30 minutes but it totally shocked me. For a all day Waterpark pass it was only $40 & the longest wait time I had was 15 minutes. It is a beautiful large waterpark with Slides, Lazy River, friendly staff, cheap food, clean lockers & bathroom and more. I would definitely recommend coming here if you are looking for something to do in the summer.

Went with family and had a lot of fun. Many different slides and areas for all ages. There is a distinct lack of shade and the pavement can get pretty hot! We recommend lots of sunblock, water shoes, and upf shirts!

I took my son for his birthday on a Thursday. It was a great day it wasn't completely crowded. They got to go over every waterside multiple times. They had a great time. They are 11, so they just did their own thing and checked in with me throughout the day.

Absolutely love this place! Lines weren’t too long… except to get in…. Plenty of fun for the whole fam!
