MainStay Suites Dubuque at Hwy 20

A staff member spooked my wife making her feel he was stalking her.
She no longer wants to be there,

No housekeeping to do our samples request for new bed sweets and pillow Cades. Rooms are very small.

Stayed 2 nights on a layover. Rooms were kinda dingy. In fact, the whole hotel felt kinda dirty. Front desk people were not really welcoming either.
Stayed at another location under Mainstay Suites name and it was pristine! That was in Rapid City SD

I have stayed here quiet a few times and 99% of the time, I get the same room, which I do request. It's always clean, the staff is always helpful, and they always have everything I need. This is a permanent place I will always book when I come to Dubuque.

Best stay I've had in this area at the price point. This will be a go to hotel for me in Dubuque. Having a kitchen and apartment feel makes all the difference in the world.

The WORST hotel and service in my life!
I've booked a room, by using CHOICE.
When I tried to get it, the guy on reception WAS REALY RUDE.
Hi didn't wan to take my card, because it was corporate, and if u don't have your name on it, u r losing reservation, without refund!
I told him, it doesn't work like that.
I'm Platinum member of CHOICE.
I've never had any problems with HOTELS, by using my card!
He said, if I don't live the hotel, he'll call cops!
After that, I asked him, how can I talk to his manager, he said, I'M THE MANEDGER.
Nevertheless, he called cops, they came.
I explained everything to them, one of them went to talk to dump "manager"

10 min.after, officer came out with paper, that I have a cancelation!

Never stay at this "hotel"

The beds were the only thing comfortable. The bathroom faucet handle came right off when turning the faucet on. The shower head was cracked, it had more water coming out the back of it, then out the front of it. The hair dryer didn't work. The toilet seat was very loose. When we got in the room, the refrigerator door had been left open, causing the fridge to run for a long time, in which it was very noisy. The breakfast was not much to choose from. I was not impressed for what they charge for a room and no pool either. Will not stay there again.

They dont know how to answer the phone and they suck overall. The house keepers dont clean the whole room and they dont change the top bed sheet if not dirty, for 3 days to 1 week. The old food is restocked with the fresh food and all everyday. Yuck crossing contamination. Thts what thts called.

This hotell is very rundown and in need of total make over. Kitchen has no equipment at all, is filthy and I would not recommend to use it for cooking. Not worth the price. I won't stay here again.not even for free.

Beds were terrible couch bed didn't even ha e a thick enough mattress to comfort the bar going down the middle. Shower was terrible had to kiss the wall to wash my hair overall a terrible experience. Site said a pool was a available. Only if you we t to the neighbo hotelring hotel

I am not certain how this hotel could ever receive anything but a 1 star rating - disgustingly dirty, smelly, floors were damp and spongy. I thought they were renting by the hour. DO NOT STAY HERE.

This hotel is filthy. Stains on carpet in hallway. Dirty elevator. First room was musty, smoking smell, dirt. 2nd room, bug ran out the door as we opened it. Brown stained towel behind the door. Surprisingly, no smell. But the smoke alarm was also removed from the ceiling. Holes in screens. Toilet didn’t flush. We checked out and expect a full refund. Fire code violations and probably health violations. Stay away from this place. My husband forgot to read reviews. -10

This hotel was suggested through a travel site as a deal, which is the only reason we chose it. The staff was friendly, but the facilities were not great: something in the kitchen smelled, towels were nevee refreshed, and the lamp lights flickered. We asked for someone to check out the smell and no one ever came. We had to go the front desk to get towels where the main lobby lights weren't even turned on. For the price it was fine, but I wouldn't stay there again if given the choice.

This hotel cancelled my reservation because they didn’t like that I booked it at a lower price and tried to get me to rebook for 400$ more. Completely unprofessional and disgusting, stay far away unless you want to have surprises the day before your trip. They just do that to hit you up for more money if they think they can get more.

Stayed here off and on for over a month. Filthy. Sticky floors in room, this includes the carpet. Bath tub drains barely drain in every room I stayed in. Good shower pressure is one positive. Light bulbs missing in every room. Dishwasher flooded all over the kitchen via the sink. I used my towels to wipe it up and asked for more, never received them. Counters sticky, fridge dirty, cupboards dirty. The room was cleaner when I left then when I arrived. Toilets ran non-stop and a/c barely worked in one room and froze you in another, not to mention they were all loud. Only ice machine that worked was on 3rd floor, the others looked extremely filthy. My employer paid for my room otherwise I would have went elsewhere. Final straw was conveniently losing my reservations during Field of Dreams game because they could triple charge everyone. Said "Sorry about that" and left me to try to find a hotel 4 hours from home at 7: 30 at night. Not impressed

The lock on our door was broken when we checked in and it was only my 12-year-old son and I staying, so I wasn’t comfortable with that. Our key for the room hardly worked, you had to jam it in and out several times fast to get the door to unlock. The smoke detector battery started dying (chirping at 3: 27 a.m.) and I wasn’t comfortable calling to have someone come fix it. All the surfaces were sticky, maybe there cleaning solution? But it felt disgusting. We left before they even started selling breakfast.

Excellent facilities and very polite staff with great hospitality… breakfast is fabulous…wanna stay again
