6I went to Iowa State for school and had been to Mcfarland for 4 years for my annual eye exam. I was not informed of my condition of trichiasis by any of the Mcfarland doctors until I moved home recently and got a random eye exam! Apparently my cornea was pretty scarred from my lashes growing inwards and poking at it and now I need surgery. I would've appreciated if they had warned me about it. Literally my optometrist (not even an MD) had one look at my eye and thought she should check my cornea and suggested me to go to a specialist.
When they give you eye exams they don’t give you all of your measurements needed to buy glasses unless you pay them extra money on top of the eye exam price to try and force you to buy glasses from them.
I am very pleased with receptionist, nurses and doctors. I can't say enough good things about nurse Polly and Dr Lehman. The reconstructive surgery was exemplary. I do so appreciate their service.
Good doctors, but one of the receptionists is very rude. Life is too short and fortunately there are several other great options in town. Please hire only friendly staff. Thank you!
The receptionist was rude and impatient answering my inquiries on the phone. Last time I was there for eye exam, the doctor's schedule was far behind, which ended in a long waiting. I decided to switch to different eye center in town.
Today I had my second annual exam with them (switched to them in 2018 due to an insurance change). I was lamenting needing my eyes dilated because I needed to look at a computer today, the medical assistant informed me reading glasses would reduce the strain of having to look at a computer with dilated eyes. I got a pair of reading glasses at the dollar store and they are making my day so much easier, I only wish I’d known this the last 10 years!
I don’t have insurance coverage for glasses or contacts. I mostly wear contacts so I haven’t ordered glasses from them but I do order my contacts through this office and my contacts are slightly cheaper through them than the last eye clinic I got contacts through.
