Medical Associates Clinic Acute Care reviews
6 I went back in November I believe because I thought I had Covid. They tested me and then called and said they lost my test.
Then I just took my 1 1/2 year old in and they tested him for covid/flu and they called and said they were unable to run his test. I asked why and the nurse was unsure why.
How does this happen? !
I was SUPER sick this weekend! I am new to Iowa area. I called on a Sunday, they were open and told me to come down! I got lost inside the hospital, lol, ended up locked in an area and had to call them again. They sent someone to find me lol. On top of that, they really tested me for a lot to rule out what was wrong. All tests came back negative however I still was treated with 2 medications that ALREADY have me feeling a lot better! Staff was friendly, wait wasn’t long at all. I had an overall good experience!
Called to ask a medical related question and the lady was super rude. Had an attitude and seemed like I was an inconvenience to her for calling.
Was one of the first to arrive upon opening and was told “it shouldn’t be long”. They called in a person that checked in after me. Waited ~40 minutes and ended up having to leave without being seen. Staff should be able to give a more accurate wait time.
The support staff (receptionist) was extremely rude, the least you could do is be nice.
Some receptionists are good but some act like you are of no importance.
Good:
Wait time
Staff friendliness
Bad:
Everything else
Came in a Monday with a fever and a sore throat. Tested negative for flu and strep, but the doctor thought it was the flu anyway and game me tamiflu. Ordered to take a week off. Doctor was very rushed but friendly.
It’s now Friday and I’ve only gotten worse. I’ve developed a terrible cough that is very obviously a bacterial infection. Today I revisit the clinic to find a dismissive doctor basically telling me “well that’s the flu for ya” and sent me right back out the door with little concern for anything I brought up to him. Our visit was probably less than 5 minutes. He basically told me coughing till you’re throwing up is a normal occurrence for 4-8 weeks due to the flu!?
I decided to get a second (technically third) opinion and thank god I did. Immediately prescribed antibiotics and the doctor seemed puzzled by my experience at this clinic. It’s just so frustrating I had to waste so much vacation time (and possibly even more) as well as put my newborn at risk to infection for even longer thanks to these clowns. Never again.
