Mercy Clinics Urgent Care Ankeny North reviews
11 The day before I went to urgent care I slipped on the ice and landed flat on my back and head. The next day I was dizzy so I went into urgent care and saw Dr Keller.
He was awesome! He took very good care of me and he seemed genuinely concerned. I was sent by ambulance to ER because he wanted to find out exactly what was wrong other than a concussion.
I just wanted to thank him so very much for the care that he gave me.

When I started seeing Dr. Egli here, I really enjoyed the care I received. Now it seems ever since the remodel/rebranding, that the patients are last priority. A couple months ago I was really sick with a stomach bug and tried to get seen by my regular doctor, I was told because of COVID-19 I had to go to the one in the East Village, which was fine but the woman on the phone wasn’t very helpful at all so I called the East Village one and the woman on the phone was extremely rude to me so I ended up going elsewhere. Recently I’ve been having issues filling my prescriptions and my pharmacy couldn’t figure out why so today I called Mercy North to find out. The woman on the phone broke the news to me Dr. Egli left in June and I “was supposed to get a letter” which if you ask me, is hardly the best way to tell patients they have to find a new doctor. I never got a letter, no email, no call, not even my pharmacy knew. The woman on the phone was telling me I had to be seen before it would get filled. Which is odd to me since I’ve been on this prescription for 5+ years without any issues and if I don’t get back on it soon I will suffer withdrawals. I understand the process but she got an extreme attitude with me when I was just trying to figure out what was going on. So I asked to speak to the manager and she told me she wasn’t in because it was Sunday but in an extremely rude way so I asked her name and that’s when I was hung up on. I was in shock. This is by far the worst experience I’ve ever had anywhere, let alone a health care facility! Is this really how you treat your patients, do you allow your employees to treat them like garbage? I know there’s a lot going on in the world right now but don’t your employees have any manors or compassion?
Been going here for most of my life and have never had a poor experience. Very nice facility, helpful staff, and excellent pharmacists
AMAZING PEOPLE!
front desk receptionist (I wish I got her name) and Doctor Folden is just amazing!
I want to Thank all at MERCY NORTH URGENT CARE IN ANKENY FOR TAKING CARE OF MY WIFE TODAY. I was really impressed with everyone there that helped. It was close to closing time & they ran tests anyhow. THANK YOU. BY THE WAY, YOU HAVE A BEAUTIFUL FACILITY.
We have lived in Ankeny for almost 6 years. Have 5 boys at home and I have dreaded going to Urgent Care from horror stories. So we just fix everything at home or wait until the next day.
Dr Harrison and nurses were absolutely amazing! Treated my 5 year old little boy wonderfully and made him feel calm while giving him 3 staples in his head! I cannot express how thankful I am to them as I thought he would be a wreck! He didn’t even have tears!
Thanks you so much!
Really disappointed in the lack of decency and common respect and courtesy here - the nurse came out to the waiting room to tell my young family member I had brought in, "Can he not cough here? " Appalling. This same nurse also called him by a different name. Finally I asked who 'Gary' was as this was nowhere near his name, she responded by saying, "Oh, well, I guess I've never met a _ before so I just can't remember it. " It is almost hard to believe this even occurred. How can someone be a nurse and fail to give the respect to call someone by the right name? Or even fail to just apologize for making the mistake? So very frustrating, disappointing, and disrespectful.
I thought other reviews were being dramatic, they weren't.service is terribly slow. While waiting in the room; I had a patient just walk in, a second nurse came in for ice packs randomly. No privacy apparently.
Worse place 2nd time only here cause sons work made us come here. He has a head injury still waiting. Its worth the extra drive to avoid this place
Absolute worst experience ever. Twice now! First was years ago and the second and final straw was tonight. I took my son there as a baby and was told by Dr. Stephen Nowak he didn't have an ear infection. Low and behold, next day my sons ear infection was so bad, it ruptured his ear drum. If I would have known what I do now (older and wiser) I would have done whatever needed to pursue something against this worthless doctor.
Second and final straw was tonight. My husband goes to Urgent Care as he has had a cyst looking bump on the back of his hand for several years. Well today, it is 3x times the size and he is in severe pain. Something is obviously wrong. Stephen Nowak says "what bump" so apparently he is also losing not only his mind but his eyesight as it's more than obvious. My husband knows it's not broke. It's been like this for several years. It's obvious its pressing on a nerve or tendon but he just says well do you need a note for work tomorrow. Uh no, sure dont, that's why I am here tonight instead of my regular doctor. Secondly, asks him if he wants pain meds. Yeah.nope again. Why would you even offer those if you can't see anything? !? ! Third, now my husband is getting another opinion as we speak as it's too much to bear the pain and he is an ironworker and no wuss so it's obvious this moron of a doctor needs to retire.
He is so rude and tries to belittle you. My husband didnt need an xray, told him wasn't broken. What he needed was a doctor to explore any possibilities of what could be wrong. Not this fool. If I would have known he was still practicing and the only doctor around tonight, he would have went where he is at now to begin with.
Complete joke!
Went there for sore throat. I'm in horrible pain which they refused to treat. Just told me to take ibuprofen. I have tonsil surgery in 2 weeks and can't take ibuprofin. Staring at the paperworks that states that now. This place you will be in and out and no one will care.
