Brake Shop Midas reviews
16Alec and Ryanne are amazing, went above and beyond to help me. Friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. Will return again solely because of them.
Needed an oil change and some other things. They got my car in quickly and kept me apprised of what they found. Fantastic! Thanks to the technician and Ryanne for getting my car done!
Very bad service. Recently changed my radiator and flushed coolant and transmission fluid. But they didn’t connect hose pipes and other lines. Really disappointing.
Amazing staff. The first place I went to when I moved to Ames and they were kind and walked me through everything! Exceeded all my expectations!
Had my brake pads replaced and Alec there was very helpful and educated me with every aspect of the work that was made. Plus he has so awesome stories that he has done. I would definitely be coming back to get my car repaired. Thanks Alec
Alec and his team were wonderful. They diagnosed my car very quickly and got it to completion within 2 hours. Highly recommended their team.
Do yourself a favor and get a second opinion. Plenty of local mechanics around that charge less and are far more knowledgeable.
Alec and the rest of the staff were great! Helpful, reliable, knowledgeable AND trustworthy. I have absolutely no qualms about recommending them. Thank you guys!
Alec was communicative, helpful, thorough and professional, and the problem was addressed without excessive add-ons. Would definitely recommend!
Alec is the best! Took care of me with ease and got my car in and out super fast I would recommend EVERYONE to take their car to Alec
My experience was outstanding. I was treated with the highest respect. I was so impressed with they didn't try to sell me extra things to raise my bill. I will always use them in the future for any service!
Would give 0 stars if I could. I have asked them to take a look at my brakes whenever I know theyre going bad and they tell me: "Oh its probably just a rock. Call back if it continues. " Yeah, well, now im needing my rotors changed. I have anxiety calling this place because its the same misogynist people who dont think i know what im talking about. Its always like that.
I always receive great service at Midas! Recently, I brought my car in because of an engine over heating warning, but the mechanic, Jeremy, found a whole lot more going on.
Nick called and gave me a thorough break down of everything, and was very understanding when I wanted to bring my Dad in to check things out. (Not due to a lack of trust, but due to a lack of understanding on my part).
We told them that my Dad would take care of the repairs, and they STILL took the time to go over everything with us both, even taking time to top off the engine coolant to get me home safely, and made sure we knew exactly what was needed for repairs.
Thanks to the skills and service provided by Nick & Jeremy, we were able to get my car back on the road. I never felt pressure or put on the spot. They were both so helpful and seemed genuinely happy to be doing the work to help people like me!
Fast forward another month and I'm back in the shop for new tires (I knew i needed them, but i couldn't afford them last time). Nick got my car in right away, and even got my back shocks replaced at the same time, and the wheels aligned! Again, great, no- pressure service! The shop was very busy while i was waiting, but everyone was so polite to each other & to me.
The service at this shop can't be beat! Thanks for getting back on the road, guys!
4/28/2023 They did it again! This time, Jason & Alec helped me out, identifying current and potential future problems on my cruze. They were fair, patient, and accommodating to my needs. They both were so kind and helpful, didn't pressure me, and let me know what services were most important, and would need to be done first. I am very grateful to these guys for all of their help this week!
I had a very good experience with the Midas here in Ames. Jason is a great guy that will take the time to make sure you’re taken care of. Definitely will go back again and again.
I'm on a road trip, traveling alone and wanted the oil changed and tires checked. I'm always Leary about auto repair shops, my husband usually handles it. Jason was outstanding! I didn't have an appointment, but he got me in there, my car checked out, and oil changed. Back on the road again. Thank you Jason!
Walked in for an oil change. First time I went 5k miles ago service was amazing. This time was, eh. Every oil change I watch who ever is servicing my car. When I went in I said I needed an oil change and tire rotation. They seemed a bit rushed. Completed the oil change and forgot to rotate my tires so I had to remind them and they took my car back to the rack. Left a vague service review saying everything looked good. I know it’s coming up on time to replace the engine air filter and the cabin They look pretty rough, they didn’t check those. I asked how the brakes were, cause last time I was in they told me rears were at 50%. This time they said everything looked good, which tells me they didn’t look. Even when they told me they did but I know they didn’t because I watched them. After that they didn’t torque my lug nuts, I went across the street to a competitor and got them torqued with a torque wrench and the guys over there said yeah a few of them were loose. Glad I did that, because on my way to Milwaukee this weekend who knows maybe the wheel could’ve fallen off. After just a few of those things it makes me think, if they forgot to rotate the tires and torque the lugs, what other things did they forgot to do…? Was an unfortunate rushed service for me. Just makes me wish I had my own lift so I could do it myself. Things I would think is included with a basic service just being forgotten. Only benefit of this service was the price. 30 bucks plus tax cause I had a 10 dollar off coupon basically.
