Friendly service but it can be a little intimidating trying to find specific items/vitamins. Very large selection that always seems to be changing.

Was in the store early Saturday morning at about 9: 30 AM. The man checking out at the register before me tried to give the lady his spare change incase anyone else needed it I'm assuming. The lady at the register absolutely would not take it because it would throw off her drawer. So up next was my boyfriend and I come to find out my boyfriend knows the lady
I believe her name was Dianne. She starts complaining right off the bat that apparently he put 2 different apples in the same bag and complained because they have to be rang up separately. Cool. Then as she's ringing us up she is just pounding away at her computer typing in the codes. My boyfriend proceeded to ask her twice how she was doing no response what so ever from her! Then looks at us and ask a question about the apples she's ringing up like we're supposed to answer her after she ignores us. My boyfriend then said it's fine I'll just talk to your manager. Of course she then speaks up right away after this and I said yeah we asked you how your doing twice and you ignored us. She then tries to play it off as she can't hear. But heard us very well when we would just speak to the manager about the situation.

Highly recommend! I've learned anything FDA APPROVED is highly toxic in my opinion as NOTHING I've purchased from there has the FDA's Approval and guess what!? It's worked and could see instant positive results for everything I purchased at a reasonable price for and love that there's at least one company trying to help save the human race, the planet, and everything inside and out the smart way and not out to make a buck and not care about the after affects. #Bringbackhumanity

This place used to be great, especially if you were vegan. Nowadays most things are significantly overpriced compared to other stores in the area. But the thing that made me give it a 1 star review is that the cashiers now are awful. I just went through and watched a cashier angrily throw all of my items out of my basket before scanning, then angrily slide them across to me hard enough to damage the packaging. Whatever is nothing you, leave the customers and their products out of it, they didn't do anything to you. And if you're going to do that, at least be equally unprofessional to everyone, don't be gentle and nice with other customer's merchandise just because they meet whatever arbitrary standards you want. (She was very gentle with the older woman's groceries that was ahead of me)

My family and I have been buying our food at Natural Grocery in Iowa City for about 3 years and all the people serving have been friendly, until today when we were served by a very unfriendly and racist person, who treated us badly and the white person who was there. In line behind us, he served her very kindly, it is not fair to pay for such expensive food for a person with a bad attitude to throw away the food, he should learn to love life and appreciate the opportunity that this day has to stay alive.

Natural Grocers has a good selection of unique items that you can’t find in other local grocery stores. An example would be their selection of chocolate bars. They have many different supplements. Also a good source of durable reusable shopping bags. You’ll still want to support other local food vendors and grocery stores, but having Natural Grocers on your regular list makes sense. Check out their selection of plant-based meat alternatives.

I was checking on a specific vitamin from a specific manufacturer the employee there didn't seem very helpful and her telling me that they didn't have it without even looking she seemed to be brushing me off. It's a pretty good grocery store for special-needs on food I find their prices a little high and their employees not very helpful

I had just recently moved to the Iowa City area and the Tuesday night I had gone in I was immediately met with an unwelcoming vibe in the back isles of the stores when I asked the manager Yulisa for help she was super short with me and rude I definitely won’t be going back in here if I could rate a -5 stars on customer service skills I definitely would give her all 5 yuck!

Beautiful store with a huge selection of healthy food, supplements, and non-food items. Closest I've found to Marlene's Market & Deli (West Coast) since I moved to Iowa. Very helpful employees.

I guess not what I was expecting. Produce seemed good, but there was an odd selection of other items. Might be good for some but but us.

It's a local Iowa store, I found what I was looking for, there are organic fruits, vegetables, coffee, which is the best.

This place has generally better quality and lower prices than the competition in town. I would recommend it to anyone trying to save money or looking for good quality produce

I tried to buy a month supply of some tea concentrate made in the USA. But the cashier told me a story about her mother being approached by customs for trying to return from switzerland with too much chocolate, and lied to my face after judging me for prefering tea to coffee?

Stupidity and snobbery aren't a good mix.

Very good selection of vitamins. Found food items that I can not find anywhere else. The produce selection was perfect and very fresh.

It pays to check your receipts when shopping at this store. They always overcharge. When I check out, the items on sale still have the original prices rather than the discount prices, especially for fresh produce and dairy produce. It happened not less than 9 out of 10 times. It is hard for us to discover when we buy many things. They always give an excuse, like the sale sign should be removed, or someone erased the number before the decimal of the price and etc. I am a researcher. My professional knowledge tells me that if they were random mistakes, then there should be roughly the same number of undercharges as overcharges. However we are always overcharged (the sample size is not as big as 10K observations admittedly but I was a frequent shopper). I would not give it any stars if I can. The products are good. But they sell dairy products beyond the best-used date. I would appreciate it if they can be honest about prices.
