2 Update:
I am glad to report that the Parks and Recreation Department is working on getting doors put on the bathroom stalls. Meanwhile, curtains will be used by the Summer Camp Program which will at least provide the children some form of privacy when using the restroom.
But unfortunately, when the Summer Camp Program closes for the day the curtains will be removed and put back the next morning which means there is still no privacy available for the general public.
The last time I was there with my grandchildren I had to use the bathroom and was completely exposed to whoever came in. I was so uncomfortable that I had one of my granddaughter's stand by the stall to alert anyone who came in that there was someone using the restroom. I found this stressful to say the least.
So until I see door's on the stalls this review will stay at one star.
Until the Cedar Rapids Park and Recreation put doors on the bathroom stalls I give it a rating of one star.
Not only is it open to the public but they also run a Summer Camp Program there underneath the pavilion and these are the same bathrooms that the children have to use to dress and undress after coming back from the pool.
I have made Mr. Taylor who is the Director over the Parks and Recreation Department aware of this liability and I hope for the sake of the children he gets it fixed ASAP. The bathrooms are super small. The girls bathroom has two stalls one being handicap assessable so we're only talking about two bathroom doors!
Great place for a summer day with the kiddos! Good area with shade surrounding and a park attached. Ice cream truck came by twice as well while we were there!
