Normandy Terrace Apartments reviews
4I've lived here for 7 years, and have been very pleased with our experience. Huge apartments for reasonable rent in a great location, responsive maintenance, and friendly office staff.
Assaulted by the head of maintenance. Sent formal complaint to corporate office. Never got even an acknowledgment even tho assault was recorded. Apartments are infested with ants & roaches. It’s the nicer version of living in the slums.
Very affordable and large for the money you pay. On site maint. Accepts large dogs and works with rent. Older buildings so there is some draft with the sliding door. You need to go outside and in the end of the building to get to the laundry tho.
After nearly ten years, I've moved away from this location but I felt I could share my opinions.
In all of my years the service for both repairs and requests has been prompt and satisfactory, and only one rent increase during that time. They offer rent payment and maintenance options online as well as communication if there are outstanding issues. Maintenance also was very understanding and cooperative for my schedule, a must since COVID has so many people working from home. They are also installing google fiber as of this review, which I sadly won't be able to enjoy. The one time pet fee (rather than monthly pet rent) saved me hundreds of dollars over the years. The location is also very convenient, with a couple of bar/grills nearby, as well as Hyvee and Walgreens. A vet is also five minutes just up the road if you have pets.
Now, for some of the downsides. The apartments are old, with old appliances and fixtures. While the complex is very prompt with replacing things when they break down, it's very often that new appliances do not quite fit with the size and shape of the apartment's design. The new dishwasher my unit got was a quarter inch too tall for the counter it was going under, so it just got wedged in. There's also damage in some places (namely, the roller track for the patio door that was bent out of shape) that they didn't seem interested in fixing. Parking is also very hit or miss depending on what unit you're in. Lastly, depending on where you are in the complex you may have a -lot- of children foot traffic, which might be a concern if you get packages delivered.
I hope this review is useful!
