Ottumwa Regional Health Center

My daughter was sick so we took her to the ER. She stayed there for a couple of days before getting a call that she was getting a helicopter lift to Iowa City without the knowledge of me or my wife. We were 45 minutes away so we told them to hold the ride so we can asset the situation ourselves. Arrived under an hour but were locked out. Police were called on us while we were trying to find our 12 year old daughter. My 17 year old daughter, who was staying with my youngest, was terrified by the whole situation so she went out for fresh air. Had to drive an hour and a half to Iowa City to see my daughter again. My mother was in there for a 10 days just to be worse than when she got there. If you want to live, go anywhere else

I don't use my real name on apps like this.but I wanted to take the time to thank Veronica and Raelynn yesterday. Each of you are amazing. You were both friendly and professional and did a great job at listening to my needs and assisting me.
Veronica- You took the time to listen to my concerns and you got on the phone and spoke with others to see how I could be better assisted with getting labs done. You kept me updated and in the loop. You also even walked me back to the lab. Thank you for being so friendly and understanding and great at problem solving. You handed me off to Raelynn.
Raelynn- You took the time to also listen to me and find my lab orders and also draw my labs. Not only that but you also were very efficient and helped make me comfortable. You were also able to get the needle in first try! You also explained to me what steps you'd be taking once my results came back.
So again thanks to both of you for letting me tell you what my needs were, solving the issue, being efficient, friendly and professional. Please do screenshot this and give it to your supervisors because they deserve to know how great both of you are!

Attempted to receive emergency care at this facility but the completely incompetent staff couldn’t give any sort of estimate as to how long it would take to be seen. The waiting room was absolutely packed with people. The staff we interacted with were ignorant and rude. We then attempted to call to provide feedback and THOSE people were also rude. You’re better off driving an hour and a half north to Iowa City, or going to your vehicle and waiting to d**, than being seen here.

If there was a o stare that's what I would give them my went out for chest pains and they acted like my mother was lying about how she felt

Unless you go to the Emergency room by ambulance you will sit there for hours. There were people before me that had been there for hours. A young family with a sick child gave up and left as well as others. I sat there in severe pain for 5 hours. I decided to sign out and have my Wife drive me to Oskaloosa emergency room a half hour drive away. Oskaloosa took me in immediately and took care of me very well. I will never go to Ottumwa again unless I have no choice because I'm unconscious.

I was hospitalized @ your facility for 1
week& 1/2. Everyone took good care of me. Explained things thoroughly. I was satisfied with my care. Thank you! All my care was in ACUTE CARE!

My stepmom just recently got into a car accident and she hit her head on the windshield of her car and she kept saying that the top of her head hurt and Dr. Lyssy (her ER doctor) refused to touch her and he also accused her of smoking even though she's never smoked. She also has a concussion and he sent her home.

Would never recommend, too many horror srories- events! Local people. Do. Not. Use! Only in deathly emergency! Then, good luck. Go to UIHC. FOR PROFESSIONAL CARE!
