Pancheros Mexican Grill, Waukee IA

I've come twice and they haven't had veggies. Just left the 2nd time and 6: 45 and the were out and not going to make any more

My meal was decent, but there was definitely some room for improvement. Store cleanness is important to me. One of the clerks had long flowing hair and no hair net. The drink station was messy and sticky. These things show how much a business cares about their customers and I wasn't feeling valued that Visit. Maybe management will see this review and do something about it. We'll see.

If you can go to any other Pancheros please do. I would give 0 stars if I could. I placed an online order from here and they didn’t have any chicken or tortillas so I asked if I could be refunded and cancel my order they told me that I couldn’t. I then traveled to the one on Jordan Creek Parkway and they had my food and when I asked about it told them that they were able to refund me that this store had lied. The gave me a number for a manager. It is not the food it is this particular Pancheros save yourself time and skip this place.

The quantity they give is half of what other Pancheros give. Also they add a spicy and tangy sauce even if you didn’t order for it.

My wife and I got food poisoning from the chicken burritos that we ordered at this location yesterday afternoon. We have been unable to sleep, and unable to keep anything down as we are exploding out of both ends. Horrible, horrible experience.assuming that it is the chicken as it was chewy. Will never eat from this establishment again

Kinda dirty, I have eaten at Pancheros in many different locations. This one the food was not great. Over cooked and the vegetables were not prepared properly. Someone was lazy and left them to big. It was a sad experience

No customers in the store, three employees sitting in booth stated we only take cash. When I said okay two got up to help. Order wasn’t done correctly for either item we got. Burrito was wrapped loose and sloppy. Chicken in my sons taco was cold. The last experience I had here was bad I’m not sure why I came back.

This location never seems to shine & always seems to mess up my order whether it’s missing ingredients or just bad quality. As new as this place is & looks it’s just not worth spending a penny at this location. The West Des Moines & Johnston location are just so much better in so many ways.

I love the burritos! ; specially the tofusada ones; the only thing on this location is the mix; I think the need to be more careful and mix better the ingredients.

I want this to be more about feedback than a rating: I know Pancheros can do better.

It's 3: 20pm, 10/15/2023. To MANGEMENT: please give refresher training on how to properly wrap a burrito and while showing how to put good amount of chicken and rice on the burrito. Also, there were no black beans and the Pinto beans looked dry and crusty, do, I didn't get the topping I wanted. I had to ask for more rice and meat on my burrito. I didnt feel comfortable paying full price for this burrito.

ANKENY and Waukee are diminishing the great reputation that the West Des Moines And Johnston always uphold. I remember there's was a Pancheros in Dallas Area that was as bad as this one and it shut down. I would tell everyone to go and when I went, I understood why my Texas Friends told me Pancheros isn't good.

PANCHEROS: You can do better, and, I'm sure there are friendly, caring, competent people in Waukee than can do a betterjob, or there is a better manger that can motivate and train them to have integrity when it comes to quality.

I have been here probably 30-50 times since they have opened, if not more. And I am consistently disappointed. Urbandale and the West Des Moines never have the issues you guys do and always meet my expectations. Today my burrito was a square shape, not folded correctly and with half the ingredients in it compared to your other locations. The outside wrapping was covered in juices from the bowl. My quesadilla was stale and not cut, so I had to rip it into pieces. I am not even looking for an apology on here from you guys at this point. You constantly disappoint everyone that goes here and truly need to close this location or hire all new employees. This is absolutely pathetic.

I don’t eat Pancheros very often, but I decided to try it again, highly disappointed! And after reading most of these reviews, I don’t think that anything has changed in the last two weeks of the last disappointing review so working on it is not working out for you guys unfortunately.
I ordered a steak quesadilla, three small tortillas and chips and queso, and spent $14 and some change. And I threw everything away, except for one tortilla that I ate.
I don’t do many reviews, but maybe this one will help Pancheros get it, right. My steak quesadilla literally had a few meat in there and it was like the middle and not spread. It was just clumped in the middle of the tortilla. They did a pour cut, so I had to pull it apart as you can see there was either hardly any meat and the meat that was there was not meat. It was pretty rubbery fatty or very dry. I don’t even know what it was supposed to taste like there was so much seasoning on there that I couldn’t taste anything but salt and whatever seasoning you put on there. As you can see, I ordered individual tortillas. They were supposed to be small I mean I guess I shouldn’t be mad that they were ginormous. However, they were very rubbery so I only ate one and the queso dip and chips. The chips were good. They were not stale, but the cheese was so thick and clumpy. I could barely push a trip through it, and when I was able to push all the way through it, and it was thick, the texture was like a rubbery type of food. I don’t even know how to explain it, but it was not good.
The one thing I liked about it was your customer service was nice. Just very depressing to spend money when I should’ve just saved it because it was not worth $14.

Very bad, they are super slow, the tortillas are all twisted and broken, very bad service, the employees' clothes look dirty and it doesn't look good.

I have been to this location a few times trying to give them more chances because I LOVE panch. Unfortunately I am always disappointed. The food is cold and it's clear no one wants to be there. I see way too much cross contamination, some is to be expected but this store is absolutely gross in the way they handle food.

It’s hard to be critical of a restaurant that is essentially a staple. It’s really hard to mess up a burrito. That said, this Pancheros has consistently fell below expectations since the day it opened. Most of the time the food will be great, which is the reason I’m willing to occasionally subject myself to the service provided here. Expect a wait, lack of urgency, and expect the employees to appear completely checked-out. If you’re lucky, the black beans won’t have dried into a thick paste, and the chicken won’t be crusty. There is no doubt this store has shining moments and things go well, but more time than not you’ll get a slow sub-par experience for an overpriced burrito. My recommendation is to head to the west Des Moines Pancheros. They’ll have your order perfected within seconds of it coming out of your mouth. I can’t wait for the day I get to come back and erase this poor review and replace it with the praise a Pancheros deserves. (Submitted 9/2023)

Restaurant was empty but completely trashed. Every table was dirty or greasy and trash littered the floor. Food splattered on the glass divider at the counter and grime caked the corners. They claimed there had just been a big rush, but I’d sat in the parking-lot 20 minutes prior waiting for family and this was obviously a lie. We quickly left without ordering.

“We only have chicken right now” “we don’t have any veggies” “ we don’t have much right now to be honest”. It was 7: 45pm on a Monday. PSA to the owner: hire employees that will actually make food and teach them how to clean

Nice new building. Terrible employees. Heard one guy say to the other I hate working here don't you before taking our order. Queso was cold. Out of jalapeños. Ownership/ management might want to clean house or retrain.

Each visit here something goes wrong. Today there was no RICE! Now why wouldn't there be rice. They were scraping the bottom of the chicken & carnitas bowl just to make our order. Everything was cold, nothing even warm. No discount or compensation offered. We will not be visiting this location ever again.

Orders to go have been prepared quickly by the excellent staff. Order accuracy has been terrific, great tasting and fresh.
