. The newest top-of-the-line with beyond comfortable heated recliners. Honestly the place is cleaner in comparison to the many many years ago I last visited! I really recommend the 3D movie super cool. Didn't really care working for new management most my other coworkers were great but they have all quit too because of management. So it's sad that she can't see the error of her ways and learn to people better in order to keep staff.

The theatre chairs are very comfortable and I have recommended many people from my town to come here since the remodel. But. I had my 2 youngest girls to the theatre and my 3rd came 30 minutes late as she was out with her Grandma for her birthday.they would not for nothing sell her a ticket to get into the children's movie we were at. They exclaimed to me in the fine print that 25 minutes is the cutoff. I even admittedly tried to just have her go in and stand in the back afterwards, which I know is wrong. After the staff seen her do that, they called us out and I again exclaimed and offered any means necessary to pay for her to come in and watch the movie with her family.
I gave my daughter my ticket and sat out in the lobby because they then threatened to kick my whole family out and I didn't want to ruin the night for my girls. I exclaimed to the staff that I only get to see them every other weekend as a last failed attempt. They are definitely not experienced at customer interactions, but follow the fine print policy to a fault. I could understand if I was with a group of obnoxious teenagers. I generously have changed my review from 1 star to 3 stars and took out anything that could point certain staff out after further thought as it's just a movie and I have way more important things to worry about, but arguing and threatening rather than accepting payment under an extenuating circumstance seems a bit harsh for a venue that should be characterized as family friendly. So, this review is based solely on principle. I apologize for offending anyone in this review, as I don't typically write reviews and have zero intentions of hurting anyone's career potential.

The theater is great. I love the nice new seats, the price of admission, and the price of food. Not a huge fan of the manager. She angrily yelled at a person watching the movie right next to me twice because he was "using his phone" during the movie. Not once did I see him use his phone. He was simply there trying to enjoy the movie with his two children. The teenagers a row in front of me had been using their phones the whole time and were never once scolded. I have also overhead talks of adding more food and alcohol, which I do not believe the movie theater needs.

New seats are nice, but the audio either wasn't operating correctly or the levels were messed up. No bass and low volume. The staff looked unhappy and inattentive, like we were bothering them. It might have been a perfect storm but we'll definitely go to New Sharon (insanely nice folks that you want to support with your hard earned money) or Ottumwa (superior audio) instead.

Very nice movie theater. Staff were great, and some very kind person, who remained anonymous, bought my ticket! Did I mention how good the movie, Nafarious was! Great experience all around!

We have really enjoyed everything about this theater. The lounger seating is very comfortable. Staff are welcoming and friendly. Tickets and food/drink combos are well priced. All the comfort of Des Moines movie theaters with a small town advantages.

On 2/17 I attended the 6: 45 showing of Titanic at the Oskaloosa Penn Theater, from the very beginning there was a row of middle school/ high school kids being disruptive and on their phones, eventually the “General Manager” came in and told them there were no phones allowed. About every 10 minutes throughout the entire movie at least one, sometimes multiple kids kept standing up and going in and out of the theatre walking in front of the screen, they also continued to be loud and disruptive. The “General Manager” kept coming into the theater about every 20 minutes to check on the kids which was almost as disruptive as the kids themselves going in and out. Finally after the movie ended she came in and told the kids they were banned. After confronting the “General Manager” about why she only decided to kick them out after they had already disrupted the movie I was told that she “had an agreement with the kids” she then proceeded to have an attitude towards me and told me I shouldn’t “tell her how to do her job” overall this was one of the worst theatre experiences I’ve ever had and I would appreciate a refund so I can take the time to rewatch the movie that I originally paid to see. I would also advise a re-evaluation of this “General Manager” at the Oskaloosa location as it seemed she was not able to handle the situation and only made the experience worse.

Witnessed a young couple kicked out for texting/scrolling on their phone, while they were waiting for a POST CREDIT scene. The lights were no longer dim and half the room had vacated. Extremely rude. My family of five has watched dozens of films at this location, but no more. We will be going to Ottumwa or Des Moines moving forward.

I understand the aversion to phones in use while the film is in play, due to bright screens causing distractions but on five separate occasions, a theater employee or owner turned on lights in the film room and lit up the theater below causing more of an distraction than any phone. A very underwhelming experience.

Small theater that feels big once you are inside and in your comfy chair! (For those that have left negative reviews due to seats please go back - their reno did wonders for the place!) The price cannot be beat for the comfort and very good sound.

Great place to catch a movie friendly staff and staff that actually pay attention to what people are doing off and on definitely helps keep people from doing what they shouldn't be doing.

I went to go take a pee and my two friends were waiting for me and then when we came out the lady told us that some girls told her that we were throwing popcorn at them when we didn’t. So, the lady kicked us out and didn’t give us our money back. Also, we didn’t even get a warning before getting kicked out.

Love the new seats so comfortable and staff very nice! Our son visiting from California said total price here couldn't get popcorn alone there! Special venue to appreciate locally!

New seats are great even better than ottumwa! The rows seem larger and more roomy. The seats are heated! Really nice!
