Pet Medical Center, Ames IA

Was able to get in same day with a newly adopted dog. Very friendly staff all around, from receptionist to technician to doctor. Even people who weren't caring for us stopped and said hello to the dog. Reasonable prices, cheaper than some other clinics around here. Thorough exam done by Dr. Nicole, who verbalized her findings as she went along, which I appreciated.

Just a heads up, there is a lot of construction going on right now which makes it a bit loud, but the staff are doing their best to make things work. Construction has to happen to improve the building, so can't really complain!

Love this place. They fit us right in when there was an emergency, they’re affordable and also really nice. They’ve taken really great care of my dog

We've taken two cats here and they've been very sweet with both of them. They've given good care and listen carefully to everything I am worried about. Super good at explaining things in a way that's understandable to the non-vet people.

Had our first visit today with our 3 fur babies. Excellent service by Jordyn and Dr. Nicole. Top notch and thorough and caring.

I'd give more stars if I could. Both times I went to this clinic I was extremely impressed. They jump right on it when you walk in. Not just the person I was dealing with but everyone in the building went out of their way to explain everything from options to recommendations. After bad experiences in Boone I was Soo happy to find a place I loved so close. They had no problem with an alpha dog (that Boone mishandled the first trip) and were so helpful when I had to have a kitten euthanized. Check this place out, you probably won't go back to where you used to go.

The vet staff is amazing! They were warm and welcoming. My dog was a little nervous during shots and Dr. Nichole held her to make her feel better.

Everyone Belle and I saw today were wonderful! They do very well helping keep Belle comfortable and always answer my questions thoroughly! Isaac did great keeping Belle entertained during her ear exam! I love knowing Belle is in good hands here!

We’ve been so happy with Pet Medical. My wife and I came from a small town and had a small veterinary clinic there we used to take our dogs to. We were looking for that experience when we moved to Ames. We’ve been into Pet Medical several times for a variety of reasons for our pups. Most recently one of our pups was injured and Dr. Nicole was able to see us the next day (a Sunday, their business hours rock) and get him sorted. Dr. Nicole is so wonderful and caring, and we’ve been immensely happy with their service!

This is the only vet that I will take my pets to again! I had been using another vet in town and the care here is so much more personal and professional. It is evident they truly care about the animals here and the pricing is much more affordable!

I brought both of my cats in for a wellness exam. Each of them were handled with care, compassion, and an understanding for their individual behavioral needs. My veterinarian was Dr. Van Dewalle. She helped me understand the importance of dental care, and I have a dental cleaning scheduled with PMC later in July! I trust my cat’s care with Dr. Van Dewalle. This team of veterinary care providers is recommended for your small animals!

Dr. Nicole was great. She did the best she could when our dear dog Star became gravely ill and she was very accommodating with our financial constraints. She was also compassionate and helpful when we had to put her down

I have been to this vet clinic 3 times with my puppy. Every time the vet, Nicole, has been awesome. My dog really likes her. Isaac was also very good with my puppy. Every time I go in, everyone is welcoming and gives my dog a lot of attention.

So many fantastic vet and vet techs at PMC all 3 of my animals are patients. One of my dogs is aggressive toward other people but they are always so patient with his care. Most of the time he has to be sedated. The most recent time we had to go for an ear infection clean out and the Practice Manager, Holly, and a vet tech (I didn't catch her name) were amazing. We were in the office less then an hours. Holly answered all of my questions in a kind and professional manner. The Veterinarians are amazing as well. I love that they offer appointment reminders through text as well as email. So much more convenient then having to try to remember to write it down later.

This has to be one of the best vets in the business! My dog was very sick and I called five different vets and no one could fit her in. I called PMC and they instantly got her in! Once we got there the service that we received was absolutely incredible! The staff made us feel very welcomed and answered all of our concerns and questions. Their prices were very affordable especially for someone that is on a budget! The initial visit was $89 dollars I believe and then for ultrasound, blood/lab work and meds the total bill was a little over $300 and that also included the $89 for the initial visit. Just the fact that in my and my Dogs time of need they were there and showed us love and compassion is what truly made the difference for me. Plus the next day I just received a call from the vet checking on my dog and making sure that everything's going good. They said that I could call or text anytime if I had any concerns even after hours and they would reply! I don't know any other place that does this! The personalized care especially for not being established with this company is absolutely incredible! It put my faith back in humanity and hopefully a second chance for my baby. I would recommend this place to anybody that feels how I feel about my dog.she is not my pet she is my family and I would do anything for her and so will they. It's nice having a place that understands that and feels the exact same way!

My little Pom Ski has been having some health issues for the past year. Dr. Jarod and the staff at PMC of Ames have been great in getting us in to be seen quickly and very patient with all the testing. I can tell he really cares about the pets that come in and takes a positive view on all things, unlike my last vet who was very doom and gloom even with something as simple as a sneeze! My dog hates him, but I’m impressed with all the vets and techs here and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a new vet. They also got me some good deals on pet medication.

Dr. Jarod and his team always make sure to get to the bottom of what’s going on with our pups! They are friendly and thorough and always make sure we leave with peace of mind! We trust them completely with our fur-st born “kids! ”

Started coming here based on a neighbor’s recommendation. Every time we go my dog is excited to see everyone! He loves all the attention and love! I appreciate everyone’s patience and willingness to answer my never ending questions and help ease my anxiety and concern. I appreciate the hours and being able to schedule last minute appointments and have my questions and concerns addressed so quickly. Both Dr. Nicole and Dr. Jarod have been great!
