Pet Supplies Plus - Altoona, IA

First time going here to get my dogs nails done. Very picky as have had bad experiences before at another place or two. Been just going to my vet for some time. Hard with work schedule though. Went on a Saturday, they took her right away and were kind, comforting and gentle with her. They truly cared. I don't know of any dogs that enjoy this. They took the time with her to make sure she had a good experience. And they did a great job. They are awesome and I highly recommend them. Thank you so much!

We went in for some dog food and toys. We were helped by a curly haired kid named Jacob. He seemed happy to help us. Jacob helped us find what we needed and made some good suggestions. He showed us around. Now my daughter wants a ferret. Thanks Jacob.

Staff not helpful. Sold my wife individual stuff and said didn't have a kit. When we went back same day I found entire corner of kits.

Their prices are a bit higher than other retailers, but they price match! How nice is that. They also have a great selection of cat/kitten accessories

Always friendly, this is not our primary store but we do frequent for nail trimming and other treats for our pets. Clean, kids love the assortment of small animals in the back.

GREAT store HORRIBLE STAFF
I never been inside this store until yesterday when I had to look for a CRICKETS not only did they follow me around the store preventing me from looking at other items, they had an attitude when I asked to double check the pricing. An inexperienced employee gave me the wrong amount for the wrong price (NO BIG DEAL) instead of double checking with the EMPLOYEE that helped ME. Security was called like I was causing an issue ‍️

The staff at Pet Supplies Plus in Altoona are very friendly and helpful. They helped me get signed up for the rewards program and I was able to use a $5.00 off coupon on my purchase. Will be shopping here for my pet needs. Who knows this may become the preferred pet store of Sherbert M. Holmes of the Sherbet M. Holmes Detective Series.

We love them. We fish watch, pick out special dog treats, and wander the aisles for goodies. Watch for their 10% off sale coupon!

Large selection. Lots of discounts and great deals. Store was clean and well stocked. I drive by a lot of other pet stores just to visit this place and I don't even consider going into the other stores.

Great place to get things marked down. Huge supply of every type of product. Friendly staff. Slightly higher priced, but join the rewards and you'll get it back.

Ally and Erin helped the kids pet little friends and get crickets to feed our pets at home! What a friendly crew of animal loving people ️ We love PSP so much and it's all because of people like Ally- who lovingly got our kids excited to adopt a chameleon, and Erin- who was so friendly and got our kids excited to adopt a bearded dragon or two Thanks for making this our family's favorite place to go in Altoona!

Went here with my girlfriend yesterday and she purchased a chocolate zebra pleco (very jealous), I spotted a yellow tail eel I wanted and couldn't be happier with my purchase this morning!

I take my schnoodle there to be groomed. Paige is amazing with him. I can’t praise the entire staff enough for the amazing care they gave my boy while tornadoes were ripping thru Altoona and surrounding areas. I got there as soon as I could and Paige already had him in the tornado shelter area. The staff was making sure he was comfortable and as calm as possible until I got there. I wouldn’t trust anyone else with the safety of my baby like I trust Reid’s entourage. (The staff dotes on him, he loves the attention).

Love this store! From the first time I went a year ago to just today even, the experience is always great! Occasionally they have deals on things especially today (basically everything I looked at had deals on them, ended up saving about $10 on my purchase which ended up being $75 today)
The staff are very helpful and knowledgeable, they get to you fast so you aren't just left waiting around and they get things done fast!
I come here for my parakeets and whites tree frogs, crickets and other associated needs and they always seem to have everything in stock, very rarely are they out of supplies!
I make the 30 minute drive as needed with no issues (:

I went into pet supplies plus trying to figure out what to do with my account that has a sensitive stomach. The associate Brandon I made my decisions very easy and was very knowledgeable. I will be back and a loyal customer from here on.

Altoona location is a nice and friendly location. Only reason I am ranking this store at 4 stars is because I can't believe that their reward program doesn't show coupons or deals offered to select people on the account when you check out. I was in their store over the past weekend (02.26.2022) and I had a 25% off coupon that was never applied. Frustrating!

I love this place! The staff is so kind, the animals all look well taken care of and I can find just about anything I need for my pets and they'll also price match! Definitely my favorite pet store!

Staff was absolutely amazing very knowledgeable the manager has done a great job teaching and training staff I give it a five out of five! Great selection of fish as well as reptiles!

I never write reviews, but my experiences here have been too great not to write about. I have had a hard time finding good groomers in the past for my dog. I started taking my dog to Paige a few months ago and will never take him anywhere else! Paige grooms all of the dogs on our street, and she has developed a cult following in our neighborhood! Her work is always very thorough, and she takes great care of my little one! My dog is very nervous and scared of most people. When I say “let’s go see Paige” he gets very excited. He always looks great when I take him home! All of the staff at this store are very welcoming.

I walked in, 9 months pregnant, and I was instantly greeted and asked if I needed assistance with anything. I was looking for a large bag of dog food, so the gal got the bag down for me, carried it to the checkout counter, then carried it to my car! I was so pleased with their excellent customer service! Glad to support a fellow Altoona business!
