Pizza Ranch reviews
15They need to clean off tables and wipe them with a sanitized towel and to remember to wipe the seats. We had to ask for our table to be wiped off. The older gentleman was very polite about doing his job. There were more that needed to be wiped, but they were left dirty for patrons to sit at. Management should be out on the floor making sure everything is taken care of properly.
No stars! But wouldn't let me post without giving a star.
Went in around 2: 30 today.no employees anywhere.yelled for someone in the back, no answer. Left and drove around the back of the building.employee was standing outside talking on her phone.
Went at 630 and yes they were busy so we expected to wait for pizzz to be replenished, etc.
WOW the whole hot side where chicken, veggies, potatoes were was bone empty. They filed the mashed and gravy and that was it. We were there for 45 months and chicken was never filled nor was the vegis or potato wedges. People were walking in the door and walking right back out.
Several people asked about chicken and all staff would say is it's cooking, or its on its way.
At any given time there was 4 or 5 empty pizza pans on buffet and the warmer was full of them.
There were plenty of people working so you can't blame it on that. No management there that's for sure.
Pathetic.
Very bad experience. I called ahead and they said the buffet started at 5, so we got there right at 5 hoping to get fresh food. When we got there, there was already people eating. There was maybe three pizzas out otherwise the rest were empty. The “cheesy bread” had barley any cheese, just mainly bread. There was no chicken or Mac and cheese or anything, just potatoes and gravy and corn. We got what we could and ate and then as soon as fresh chicken came out everybody was waiting so it was gone within a matter of a few minutes. Literally. We even had tables around us that weren’t eating because they had to wait for food because they ran out of pizza and chicken and almost every thing besides old potatoes. It wasn’t until about 30 minutes and a lot more people arriving that they put more food out and by that time we decided to leave because it was definitely was not worth the 14$ per person.
Very Short staffed. Had difficulty keeping up with pizza and other items they carry. Not as many options as other Pizza Ranchs' have in the Des Moines area.
First time visit. Excellent buffet selection and the food was good for the most part - with the exception of the ice cream (scooped from large containers rather than the typical "pull-the-lever" soft serve) was not good, and tasted old). The carpet in the dining area was absolutely filthy, with bits of various debris everywhere, as if it hadn't been vacuumed for several days). We'll stick with Chef King downtown.
Just wanted to share how great of an experience we had at Pizza Ranch in Marshalltown! The food was amazing but our waiter truly made the experience the best. He went out of his way to be personable and made sure everyone in our party left with a smile. His name was Reece, I hope I spelled it correctly! Places need more people like these!
The pizza is OK. You can definitely get full. If you want a specific pizza order it when you arrive. Service is slower than it used to be. I prefer Casey’s pizza but sometimes it’s easier to go out to eat.
The tables, windows in dining area were dirty, also noticed the gum ball machines and door handles were grimy. Food appeared old and dry. Very disappointed in the quality for the cost. Won’t stop there again…
Marshalltown ia is the worst pizza ranch ive ever been to. Less then 10 people here on mothers day at 7 i walked in and at 15 buks its 735 and there has not been no fresh pizza or chicken as of yet. Kudos to the bus boy hes the only one who seems to be workin.
I hadn't been to a Pizza Ranch for several years. I enjoyed this buffet style meal. It was fantastic! Everything was fresh and there was a variety of salads, Pizza & desert pizzas. The price was reasonable, unless you're not real hungry because it costs $12 per person for a buffet. I don't think they have other cheaper choices? I will definitely visit this restaurant again! Thank you PR
Really has gone downhill lately. Dining room was a huge mess, food was old and one of the employees had a huge attitude when we asked for a pizza.
Food appeared to have been setting out for quite a while, dried crust on the top of most of the vegetables, mashed potatoes dry and clumpy, pizza and desert pizzas very dry and cold. Yuck
Severely understaffed unfortunately. I've been going here for years and it's usually been very good. The fried chicken is some of the best in Marshalltown, sometimes it does take a bit for it to be made though.
Marshalltown Ranch is a few notches below other Pizza Ranches in Iowa. For one thing their prices are the same with less choices. They do not offer soup and told me they quit doing that because of crockpot problems and replacement cost. Lame excuse! What food they have seems ok and staff friendly. Overall this is a second class Pizza Ranch!
