Nice GC south of Iowa City. Fairways and greens were in good shape, the tee boxes.not so much. Typically one would expect level tee boxes covered in thick grass. That was not the case. Most tees looked as if cattle had been grazed there because previously players failed to repair their divots, etc. The is water throughout the course but only come into occasionally. Even with the poor condition of the tee boxes, I would've given one more star except for the princely green fee of $42 with Iowa PGA book. It was worth a visit when you desire a change of scenery.

Not much sand in most bunkers, mostly crabgrass. Greens are slow. Overall, it's a fun course, though.

Staff was rude and course was unkept. The bathrooms were full of clogged toilets. The hot dog I ordered was green. It’s was disgusting.

Course is in great shape. People need to utilize the divot replacing sand on the cart more, but thats typical on a Muni. Recent rain has made greens soft, so back up a bit more but still roll true and faster than expected. A great time to get out and play PV.

I’ve never met people so rude in a club house. I grew up in Iowa City and this was my home course. The people want a problem. Golf is fun, and they have found a way to ruin my home course. If you can play, play Brown Deer or Finkbine.

Do not waste your money on this? "golf" course. Terrible shape.extremely slow, bumpy greens. Tee sheet states times at 10 minute intervals.but will stack the sheet at 5 minutes as they choose. Not really golfing, more like standing, waiting. Bunkers are horrible. Guy at front counter was pleasant.girl at snack bar.not so much. What happened? Have played this "course" for 40 years. Tom Hein ran a top notch course.

Booked a team for an outing on Memorial Day in Feb 2023, based on the price that was loaded into a word document on their website. When attempting to pay for the scramble with the old flier, they didn’t accept their mistake and charged the full amount. Manager, Dylan said that it wouldn’t be fair to pay the wrong price because other teams paid the full amount. To which, I responded, how many other teams booked this tournament and paid the price but didn’t know it was a difference because they didn’t look at original price. This will be the last time my team ever plays in a scramble out there.

My buddies and I planned to play 9 holes here on Saturday evening. We checked in with an employee named Jack who was extremely unpleasant through the whole process of collecting payment. 4 holes in it starting down pouring with lighting strikes less than a mile away from the course. This was a dangerous situation and we felt as if playing through these conditions would be extremely dangerous. We headed back to the clubhouse thinking the course was closed as the weather was unplayable. When we got back to the clubhouse a man named Jack was completely insensitive to our situation and told us we could only get a refund “if a tornado touched down on the course”. I find this policy ridiculous and impractical. Anyone who may encounter a storm during your round, be aware of this policy and the demeanor of Pleasant Valley’s employees. The staff being extremely rude right from the start made for a horrible experience. Plenty of better golf options in the Iowa City area, we will not be back.

The gin-and-tonic I ordered cost $6 and was terrible. I don't think the young woman who made it knew how to make one. She was very nice and I tipped her.

While I didn’t play golf the club house was charming, a great place for a party! Side note: order a Bloody Mary.

Decent difficulty until the green where they put the pins on every hill. You also have to putt through mud, thick patches of green, and ball marks galore to the same rotation of 4 pin locations. It's not fun. People there have 0 etiquette when it comes to passing. If you're stuck behind a 4sum playing as a 2 sum then you're stuck regardless of Marshalls. The main manager in the morning is a prude. You get booked during tournaments and league play so good luck with that. It doesn't make any sense why this place is more expensive than brown deer but it is a last option in Iowa City unless you're a solo. They don't do solo players. If you book a time that no one is out, you can't go out. Only person waiting to go out? Still can't go. Want to be paired up with someone? You have to specifically ask and even then they won't call you up. That's probably why it's always wide open most days. That and it's always the back 9 first. Learn to change it up. 2 stars because you can schedule online.

Very nice course. Lots of sand but still fun to play. Course was in very good condition when we played in September.

I have played here a few times and is usually in good shape. Called last weekend as a single and was told I could get on no problem, drove half an hr from Cedar Rapids and once I got there I was told I had to wait over an hr, singles go somewhere else.

Front 9 greens where a bit beat up but the back 9 greens were fine.
I like the course and it gives us seniors a big jump on each hole.
