Quality Inn, Coralville IA

Rooms are clean, beds are comfy, the young man running the front desk is awesome, very friendly, helpful and accommodating. My only complaint about this hotel is the floors creek loudly. Sounded like a moose was tromping around above me so I went to the front desk and asked to be moved to the 2nd floor. Thank you to the guy running the front desk.

They need to get their act together, tried to get a room there and it didn't work out. Won't try again.

Check in process was smooth and with a friendly employee. He even told me about the pool out of earshot of my kids so he wouldn't excite them if we weren't going. My only complaints are that the room smelled a bit musty when we walked in, and that our room was partially under the stairs so we could hear lots of movement and talking throughout the night. Beds were comfortable. Heater worked well. Complimentary breakfast was great. Access to juice 24 hours is pretty awesome too. Check out was easy peasy. Highly recommend!

This place is pretty janky. I’d recommend staying at any of the other hotels close by. Whole first floor smells like weed. Broken bottles and caps all over the parking lot. Bottle caps on the floor of my room? Clearly hadn’t been cleaned. Back door doesn’t lock. Anyone could walk in if they want. The door to my bathroom has definitely been kicked in before. It’s chipped pretty badly across the middle where the knob is. This is a hazard and could cause someone to get cut. Looks like their fix was to just repaint it. The bed is comfy if that’s all you need but if you’re looking for ANYTHING else, just go somewhere else.

This place went above what I had expected after a long day on the road. The desk receptionist was extremely friendly when checking in and also when we needed help logging into the complimentary business station.
The room was large and very clean. We got a king size bed and the room was furnished with a microwave and refrigerator/freezer. Both of the nightstands had lamps with plugins.
The complimentary continental breakfast was a delight though a little lacking. There is a Kum & Go gas station right across the street with bakery and warm food even at nine pm when we were hungry.
If we come this way again this is where will stay.
P.s. The pool was under renovation so was closed at this time.

Ok, where do I begin. We would have changed hotels, but since the job site was sooo close, we "tuffed" it out for the week. Looks like a lot of construction workers visit this hotel/area frequently. The lot was full of out of town construction trucks and equipment, including us, as I travel with my husband when possible.
Upon entry, there is never anyone to greet you at the desk, just a monitor and a bell to ring for service. Pictures on the internet are not as they seem in the photos posted. Many out dated. The room seemed clean, bed cumffy. Clean until you look at the heating/ac unit which obviously had not been cleaned in some time as it is pretty moldy! Certainly not wiped off or ever inspected. Window was partially opened and could have used some windex. The green chair next to the night stand is pretty dirty, nothing that upholstery cleaner could not fix.
The back door exiting the hotel does not work reading your room key for re-entry, popular area for smokers and those who park on that end. So, there is the "door rock" used to hold the door open to regain access to the building. That's pretty unsafe. Anyone could come and go and who would be the wiser?
The ice machine is on its last leg. There is a panel door towards to top of the machine missing, exposing wires and parts. The top is being held together with tape, which is coming off and caving in. The calcification is pretty bad along the out side of the machine. Nothing that Lime-a-way could not clean up. Water is always on the floor. Does not appear that any floor cleaning has been done behind the machine.
Breakfast- burnt sausage, water standing water in eggs almost every day. The containers that are next to the oatmeal are filthy, just look at the lids.
It does not appear that any of the remaining items from the day before are ever changed out. Stale bread, few muffins. 2 days out of the week there was sausage gravy and cold biscuits. Where's the bacon, or potatoes? You cetertly did not ever see any attendant at the breakfast area.
The landscape area could use some TLC, maintenance as it is full of weeds, trash and debris.
We wondered if the black vehicle in the parking lot, with flat tires, car parts on the ground, and belongings inside was occupied by a homeless person, or just abandoned, and sure enough the was someone living in there.
The only emoyees that you saw during the day was an older couple doing house keeping, and we wondered then if they were trying to run the place by themselves.
Occasionally, you got a glimpse of what we would guess to be a college age student working the front area, then disappearing behind the monitor and ring bell for service sign again.
I am certain that the Board of Health or whom ever does food inspections for the Iowa area would shut this place down and cite the owners for neglect and several safety issues on the property.
IT IS PRETTY SAD THAT QUALITY INN ALLOWS THEIR PROPERTIES TO GET INTO THIS CONDITION.
AS FAR AS THE HOMELESS PERSON IN THE PARKING LOT, GIVE HIM A ROOM, FEED HIM, GIVE HIM SOME DIGNITY AND A JOB. GOD KNOWS THERE IS PLENTY OF WORK THERE THAT NEEDS TO BE DONE.

Staff was friendly. However the hotel is pretty run down. Door in the bathroom would shut. Door from the outside to in the hotel doesn't lock. The walls in the pool area are peeling. And there were men drinking in the parking lot and laying on the sidewalk, which didn't feel safe as the door doesn't lock to get in the hotel and we had small children with us. I have rewards with quality inn, and this is by far the worst one I have ever stayed in.

So, I read the reviews after I had booked and was in the hotel. The overall ratings for this Quality Inn were ok. Obviously, there were some bad experiences. I'm commenting on some of the things I've seen in other reviews as it relates to my stay.

1) Staff - staff was less polite than normal the first contact. The second contact there was a "you're welcome" after my "thank you" and that didn't feel forced.
2) Ants - Because they were called attention to, ha, yes, I think I counted 3 live ants.
3) Walls - A little peeling but not much at least in my room.
4) Breakfast - There were comments on dry or soggy etc. Sometimes I think it has to do with time. I went down around 7: 15a and the eggs and sausages were both hot and not dried out. The juice was fine.
5) Pool - I can't comment on the pool.
6) Charges - were what was expected at least through a couple days after.
7) Bed bugs - I didn't wake up with itch/scratch.
8) Shower - ha, I had to micro-inspect that too just because of other reviews.one small hair, settle down 8)

So for me.good value for money.

1) The room was dirty. I had to go around and wipe everything down. The bed linens were dirty. The breakfast? Well there were 2 bagels, no milk for the cereal, no creamer, it was ridiculous. While trying to scrape up breakfast for our child (we went without) the front desk person was yelling and arguing with a couple at breakfast. The morning of 7/29/22. Then the front desk clerk asked me 3 times for cigarettes. I think he was on drugs. He made me very uncomfortable and will not be returning.

Ants! I've never seen so many bugs in a hotel room as I did last night and this morning. We saw evidence of ants crawling on the night stand and found a candy wrapper left behind by a previous guest. OK, not a huge deal.
We ordered pizza and woke up 7hrs later to find HUNDREDS of ants all over the walls and tables and it was gross.
I felt obligated to notify staff of the infestation, so I did. They seemed to be sympathetic, so that was nice. They offered to leave a note for the manager, I hope they get it.
Grabbed a glass of orange juice on my way out the door and watched an ant scurry across the table in the breakfast room.
I'm guessing they already knew they have a bug problem.

I thought this would be a good place to stay while driving through. After numerous unknown charges to my credit card and my 2,000 dollar exterminator bill from the bed bugs I brought home they can expect to hear from my lawyers

Bathroom was filthy. When I went to hang my jacket up, I found a pair of men's underwear hanging from the ironing board. Who knows how long they had been there.

I have never been so disrespected in my life by the RACIST staff. I had to leave my room tonight because of the comments made about my race visiting my family in the college town close by. I’m so disgusted to be treated so unfair I do not recommend and I have hives

Clean and comfortable. A very pet friendly hotel, too. Our dog is well traveled and approved, as well!

Seriously, the bed was perfect. We arrived after driving all day, and the Quality Inn is always a welcome sight. Breakfast was tasty, as well.

This place is the most disrespectful unfriendly place I’ve ever been to. If you want to be humiliated and belittled, accused of things you didn’t do, or just be treated like straight up dirt i recommend going here. If you like low hospitality and crummy house cleaning, 2 faced crooked people money hungry and can’t do anything good for themselves I recommend booking here. This place thinks they can charge your account anytime they want so if you do stay here I recommend contacting your bank for fraud
