I was cycling across Iowa and had difficulty finding a place to sleep.
The handful of other hotels/motels in the area were full or closed. (There was one boutique hotel which sounded fun, but was far away [way more pedaling than I could take] and pricey and it was getting late.) While this place was partially under renovation and fully booked, the owner/manager let me camp in the backyard.
It being past midnight, I was grateful to have a place to sleep.
