Great stay, building in need of some repair, but functional. Nice historical building. Great service, thanks Robert. Great value for the money, nice breakfast. We plan on staying again.

Room was in need of some repairs. Very clean and comfortable bed. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was great! Will stay there again.

For the price you pay, didn't expect to see duct tape as furniture repair, a tub you couldn't turn off, thread worn sofa, no bulbs in holders, a host who only greeted us when we came in for breakfast but no other time, and a breakfast with processed meat, and sparse offerings. We can say we have stayed there but won't be returning.

This appears to have once been a beautiful place. Unfortunately the owner has not kept up maintenance. Wallpaper is peeling, paint is peeling and all the rooms appeared to be heated with one or more space heaters. Curtains and linens were torn. Our window had a rug under it. Possibly wouldn't close all the way. The man who greeted us was a little rude because we had to reschedule and he referred to me as the complicated guest who wanted a free room. I ignored the comment at the time. I would not recommend this place based on the condition of the structure
.

Stayed here for Valentine's Day weekend with the GF. Was looking forward to a nice stay in a themed B&B.
The building from the outside was impressive.
There was an electric pin code lock on the outside door but it seemed irrelevant as the door was never locked. When we arrived we found the owner in the main area with a few others just arriving who took us to our room. Our room was large enough for the two of us and loved the huge Victorian bed and decoration. The potpourri in the room smelled amazing. But unfortunately there is a few Cons to our trip. The bed was clean but really hard and uncomfortable and although the room was very clean it does need some work on replacing the wallpaper as there were several spots it was being held together with masking tape. I'm not going to harp too terribly bad as this building is 100 years old and I'm sure that might just be the aesthetic but it was a bit off putting. I do have to mention that the rocking chair in our room did have a broken arm rest but that is a nitpick.

Well the rooms were worn, but the bed was okay. We had a bat come into our room and chased it out. My wife could not sleep the rest of the night. We said we are sorry but we could not stay another night. He would not refund us our money and we had a great stay at the holiday Inn down the road

I booked through Hotels.com, over three months ahead of time, and I set it to pay at the property for the four-night stay. They charged my card the same day I booked for THE ENTIRE AMOUNT. Who needs this kind of untrustworthiness from a business where you will be sleeping and have valuables in the room?

Gorgeous place to stay! Very well maintained for a 100 year old building. Robert was exceptionally hospitable, rooms were clean and breakfast was tasty. Classical music during breakfast was a neat touch!

The staff was kind and very attentive
The breakfast needed some work and not having condiments. I was expecting an 5 star breakfast Bacon real eggs hasbrowns the cold buffet was good.
Also if you have a themed bed and breakfast you should dress the part that would.be cool I was disappointed with what we paid.for and I was excited when I booked it but did not meet my expectations

Horrible experience, got in 20 min early and went to our room. The lights were not working, electrical wires plugged into strip. Yellow shades, bathroom dirty. When we called out the manager/owner came upstairs yelling at us stating housekeeper was on break and the electric went out because someone must have plugged in micro and old mansion can't take everything plugged in at once. We have owner on video telling us to get the hell out. The owner was angry because we arrived before 3pm. There is no hospitality he should not be dealing with customers. It is a fire trap.

Great location in downtown dubuque. Rooms are average. No one is at the front desk for any type of check in or to direct you to your room. We just wandered around until we found it. Front door was never locked. It appeared to be broken. Front steps are failing apart. The hot breakfast left much to be desired. There were some cold options to pick from that were fine. Don't know if I would bother staying here again.

Had a great time at Redstone. In the evening we played games in the parlor. Lots of fun. Great breakfast. Robert gave us thorough history of the building. He was kind enough to take pictures of us in front of the mansion.

Nice place, Robert does a great job providing breakfast. Little too pricey for how run down the whole "City" is.

Robert was very welcoming. I had stayed in this cool place on more than one occasion. The breakfast was great, everybody was warm, welcoming and accomodating. The hotel was quiet and peaceful as well as very clean.

My husband Tom and I just returned from a short vaca in Dubuque. The Redstone Inn & Suites was amazing. Beautifully furnished with original woodwork, stained glass, statues, furnishings. Robert, the owner was the best host. He was very accommodating and helpful. Homemade delicious breakfast.and very nice and quiet. Close to the main street area. I would recommend this beautiful mansion to everyone and very happy to return. Thank you Robert.
