REI, West Des Moines IA

One of my favorite stores to get my camping and hiking supplies.
There is a variety of outdoor activity supplies and products that ranges from top brands.

As with all of my REI trips, the West Des Moines store was just as great as all the others. A helpful fellow (sorry I didn't catch your name) gave us an Iowa sticker upon finding out we were looking for something Iowa specific. We're sticker people so it worked out well.
If we're ever back in the area, we'll stop by to get more of something we probably don't need.
Also, kudos to all the employees that hung around seeing if we needed anything without hovering, it makes an awesome experience. There was always someone near and approachable so we could ask a question.

The staff at REI are amazing. Elliot even helped us put on our Thule cargo topper that we ordered for pickup. It made our day! Highly recommend REI for good quality items and service!

My time here was definitely amazing. Amazing workers very helpful and greeted us at the door. I am very very very impressed with REI would definitely recommend that you go there if you like cycling or rock, climbing or camping. The sports store is very specific, but very good to shop in. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a specific thing for camping I can’t say enough how amazing the workers are.

I've been a member for over 2 years & have been to locations all around the country this is by far the worst location I've been to. I'm always excited to check out my favorite store in another state, but ended up having a bad experience here. None of the employees said anything the whole time I was there so ended up leaving with no help. Very disappointed REI

One of the employees spent way too much time helping me find the exact tent I was hoping to find. It was greatly appreciated. I was even able to set it up the very first time with no light.

Amazing staff came in straight outta the woods and geared back up with knowledgeable staff who were also enthusiasts, but just called with some emergency stock questions and they were absolutely on point. Great staff and experience all around every time

Super cool store with amazing customer service. They helped me get sized and pick out a good backpack and I never felt any pressure to buy anything. Very informative and helpful on sales.

Between REI and Lowe's, these are two stores where I REALLY need to limit my time. REI always has all the stuff I want. And having been a member since 1985, they have always provided and stood behind all my outdoor needs.

Joe was so awesome and helped us walk through everything we need. We asked a ton of questions and he was a true expert!

I wish I knew how to insert a photo Into this review because I’m returning boots I ordered that did not fit to REI and I am getting a complete run around the Boots arrived in Greenville Indiana then left Greenville Indiana now arriving back at Greenville Indiana and now leaving again I took a screenshot of it I’m hoping I’ll be able to upload it and then I called and the representative told me this is normal And offered me no other assistance in fact she laughed at me. Very unsatisfied.

Very high quality service, items, friendly staff, and luxurious products from famous brands. Huge selection and range of items including sleeping bags, maps, pads, bikes, gloves, headlamps, and so much more! Go here if looking for high quality items for a reasonable price. Thanks for the good times!

Really great place. They have lots of outdoors equipment and really encourage people to get outdoors. The employees are very friendly and helpful.

The minute I walked in I was greeted. The staff were nice and attentive. It had a lot of neat outdoor stuff. First time going to REI store and it’s now my husbands favorite store. He got a lifetime membership for only $20.

Tom and Steven were so helpful! I was out of my depth, looking for some new thermal leggings and was able to find the perfect pair right away thanks to Tom. He also informed me about the perks of an REI membership. At checkout Steven was super informative and helped me check out and become a member in a very timely and friendly fashion. Can’t thank them enough! I’m sure everyone here is great but when in doubt, Tom or Steven will help you out!

This is a great store. They carry quality products only. Staff is helpful in finding what you need.

Went here for the first time yesterday. Awesome store with great selection, good pricing and super friendly staff. Carry a lot of activewear/yoga clothing (they carry Vouri which is super soft and high quality and Athleta in particular, great selection of YETI gear, lots of packing organization cubes even if you aren't going camping and our son got a great pair of snow boots and snow pants on sale. Will be back!

Crowded due to fall sale, but plenty of staff working and all registers were open when we there- waited in line less than 3 minutes.
