Sam's Club, Ames IA

It was a good day for shopping there
I was with my family for shopping and prices were up some.

Store is supposed to open up to the regular club members at 10am
9: 52am they are still turning people away unless they have the expensive “Plus” membership.
All I buy there is gas and a few food items; so not worth the extra membership. 10am is very late on a week day when you already pay for a membership.

Love this store, great prices and always new suprises in the store. There tire service is the best around.

So the Ames location hasn’t had the tire and battery service open for how long now? Why can every other auto repair place in Ames be open then.

Best gas prices in the area and a great place to stock up on groceries and household items.

Stopped by to fill up on gas. Four rows of pumps had long lines and four had shorter lines, with one having no line at all. So - of course, I pulled into the one with no line because at all Sam's Clubs gas I've ever been to it doesn't matter what side of your vehicle your gas is on because their hoses are designed to be able to be pulled across your car. I always assumed this was because their stations have one way traffic and it keeps the lines moving. It's also important because most vehicles now have their gas on the driver's side. As I was getting out of my vehicle the attendant approached me and barked at me "We don't allow pulling the hoses across your vehicle - You're gonna have to pull out and get in a line with the pump on the driver's side". I asked we and he barked "It causes too much wear on our hoses". I got back in my vehicle and left. I did not see any sign indicating this new ridiculous "rule". This is ridiculous and will make filling a tank at this Sam's Club take twice as long as most vehicles gas fill is on the driver's side. UNACCEPTABLE!

Apparently it was stock up day. Shelves were low I found a couple items I wanted on wrapped palettes but not available on on the shelves.

There is many benefits to join sam's and it serves each other according to one's needs.

Less then impressed with the management. Stopped in to get a new membership today after multiple employees/managers tried they told me to send my wife back in to do it another time after one of their employees made an error trying to sign me up. I overheard one of them talking to the other that they could override it but didn’t want to have to try and explain to corporate why they did the override.instead they inconvenienced a new customer from out of town. I’m not one to complain, but Sam’s needs to know about this horrible experience it was able to be fixed even.

Chlorox wipes in stock! Great prices on bread and meat. Lots of choices for healthy options too.

WORST PLACE! The manager Jaqueline Clair has no people skills. Treats her employees like garbage and is rude to paying costumers. She should NOT have a job in costumer service. 0/10! This place also has mice, major health code violations and much more.

It's ok. They have stuff. Not really cheap but you can get giant containers of mayonnaise and probably ranch dressing.

It's a good warehouse of bulk items. However it takes a long time to check out and leave.

Sam’s Club in Ames, IA, is always an adventure. I go for three things and shop for 3 hours and leave with a cart load. Super nice staff and very clean.

Almost always a good experience. Occasionally a little busy but no fault of the stores. Have actually seen associates disinfecting the carts and keypads so that is a plus. They always have amazing deals and I have yet to be disappointed in the quality of Member's Mark products. The membership is worth it in the discount on gas alone. Always stop here to get gas.
